AIMI Visual Media produced a 2:20 launch film for GOLDME Gold Medal Asia’s modern antique-finish tile line. Shot in a studio and on a salt-lake exterior with 3D title sequences, the 1920 x 1080, 25 fps master treats a building material like a fashion release, and was delivered in seven business days.

Gold Medal Asia came to us with a new modern antique-finish tile and a category problem: in a market where surface patterns are easy to copy, tone is the one asset competitors cannot borrow. We treated the launch with the full vocabulary of a fashion release: a black-and-white model editorial under hard backlight, a salt-lake sequence where a figure in a pale dress walks into the sunset, calligraphy title cards that pin the theme, and metallic 3D lettering for the GOLDME mark at the close.

Creative Concept

The new tile sells a spatial temperament rather than a specification sheet, so the launch had to make tone the selling point. A fashion editorial opening establishes the register in the first twenty seconds; the salt lake lifts the product narrative onto a magazine-cover scale, using sky and reflection as the runway; and the calligraphy cards, including the red character “pai” settling into golden sparks, keep the ceremony anchored to the brand. Dealers and designers, the real audience, read this language natively, and a launch staged as an event gives the new line pricing room.

Production

The model section ran in black and white with strong backlight, rim light drawing the silhouette while smoke and dust hung in the beam under stage-level atmosphere control. The salt-lake section was all natural light at golden hour: figure and sunset reflection compose symmetrically, and the scale of the landscape depends entirely on the time window. Title cards and the closing animation were built in 3D, with the metallic lettering’s material pushed toward the glaze sheen of the tile itself, so the product’s physical texture is quietly planted inside the brand animation.

Production Challenges

1. The salt lake only performs inside a narrow weather window. Mirror reflections need windless air and low-angle light, so we scouted ahead to lock the season and the hour, then scheduled the shoot around a golden two-hour window. Location scouting and waiting for light are the real costs of exterior work, and neither can be trimmed.

2. Fashion tone can drift away from the product. Too much fashion and the tile disappears, so calligraphy cards and the GOLDME brand frames anchor the launch theme throughout. The recurring calligraphy and logo keep the audience oriented: this is a tile release wearing fashion language, not a fashion film.

3. Black-and-white and color sections can break apart. We used emotional rhythm as the bridge: once the monochrome section stores full tension, the openness of the salt lake receives it naturally. Grading eases the transition shots with a gradual shift, so the tonal jump reads as deliberate act structure rather than a cut between two films.

Where the Film Lives

The film opened the launch event itself, playing in full once the hall lights went down, and now runs on the brand’s official website, at dealer conferences, and across social channels. A separate 30-second loop cut was produced for booth screens, with pacing tuned differently from the ceremony version. The full cut builds anticipation for the unveiling; the loop carries the tone onto the exhibition floor. Check each platform’s current policies before publishing.

Treat a tile like fabric and the launch like a runway show: pattern is the material, ceremony is the pricing power. Get the tone right and the premium follows. (Garbo) — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

Why shoot a tile launch as a fashion film?

Competition logic: modern antique-finish tiles are heavily homogenized, and anyone can copy a pattern, while brand tone cannot be copied. A fashion-style launch makes tone itself the difference, and dealers and consumers both pay a premium for a brand with tone.

What does a salt lake have to do with tiles?

It is an association of mood: the new line sells spatial temperament, and the salt-lake imagery turns that temperament into something visible. Viewers remember the shock of sky and reflection as a runway, and the product binds itself to that memory.

Should the launch film include product close-ups?

That depends on positioning: this film runs the tone route, where the product leads the event but is not the body of the imagery. If you need pattern detail, we shoot a companion product film. The launch film makes the market remember the brand; the product film lets dealers read the patterns.

How much does a tile launch film like this cost?

Every launch film is quoted per project and itemized from your brief: exteriors, models, 3D title work, and post requirements each move the figure. Share your outline through our contact page and we will return a detailed proposal and schedule.

Is black-and-white grading too artistic for a trade audience?

The restraint sits in the calligraphy: the theme characters anchor the artistry in a fashion register and stop it drifting into pure art. The audience for a launch film is dealers and designers, a group with a naturally high acceptance of fashion vocabulary.

What does the calligraphy character on the title card mean?

It is the theme character of the launch, one word compressing the ambition of the release, in the spirit of a fresh new wave. The card settling into golden sparks on black is the visual memory point of the entire film.

Where was the salt-lake exterior shot?

The location was chosen for the image: mirror reflections on salt-flat terrain were the requirement, and the exact site was fixed by season and shooting window after scouting. With exterior launches, scouting and waiting for light are costs you cannot skip.

How is the film used at the launch event itself?

As the opening video: once the hall lights go down, the full film plays and builds energy for the unveiling. A separate 30-second loop cut runs on booth screens. The ceremony version and the circulation version are paced differently, each tuned for its room.

What turnaround should we expect with exteriors and 3D involved?

Standard delivery is seven business days, covering planning, the shoot, and post including the 3D title work. Rush scheduling is possible; contact our team through the contact page to confirm timing and arrangements for your launch date.
