The client sells bold layered necklace sets mixing pearls, black beads and metal chains. Flat product shots lose the whole point of layering, so the brief called for on-model imagery with casual styling that shows how the stacks sit. All frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges
1. Layers tangle the moment the model moves. Stacked strands cross and twist between poses. Each strand is arranged at the start of every frame and checked from camera position, with the longest chain anchored under the shorter ones.
2. White shirt, white pearls, pale wall. Three light zones merge into one. The model stands slightly off the pale wall so a natural shadow edge separates shirt from background, and exposure is set for the pearls, letting the shirt fall just under clipping.
3. Casual styling can cheapen fine beads. Frayed denim and an open shirt read costume if overdone. Styling stays minimal and grooming precise, so the frame says effortless rather than messy.
Our Approach
Full styling frames.
Opening frames show the full upper-body styling with all stacks in place, giving the catalog its context anchor.
Mid-crop layer reads.
Middle frames crop at the chest, isolating how each strand length relates to the neckline.
Detail close-ups.
Closing frames tighten to bead texture and chain work at the collarbone, the craft layer of the set.
"Layered jewelry is sold on the body, not the bust form. The model's job is to give the strands a reason to fall the way they do." — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions
How is an on-model necklace set priced?
On-model frames start at $35 per image under our Growth package, with styling and retouching included and model fees quoted separately. All rates are starting prices, and the final quote depends on your requirements.
How long does an on-model session take?
This set was delivered inside our standard 5-7 business day window: styling plan and fitting first, then the shoot, then retouching.
Can you keep white pearls detailed against light clothing?
Yes. Exposure is set for the pearls and wardrobe is chosen to separate tones, and files ship at 2000x2000px sRGB so bead texture survives zooms.
Can you style the shoot to our brand's lookbook?
Yes. Wardrobe, grooming and set references are locked to your brand guide before the session.
