A clinic's team page is where patients decide whether they trust the practice, and white coats on grey are the uniform of that decision. This session photographed the medical team one by one at our Guangzhou studio, working through two coat tiers, plain lab coats for physicians and gold-trimmed coats for senior roles, under a single locked light map so the whole library matches on the page. All frames were delivered under a full commercial license for the clinic's website, booking platforms and patient materials.

Photography Challenges
1. White coats clip before faces do. A lab coat is the brightest thing in the frame and it sits right under the face. Exposure is anchored on the coat, then the key is feathered up so faces stay a step brighter than the cloth and neither clips.
2. Two coat tiers must read as one system. Plain and gold-trimmed coats mark different roles, and the frames must make the difference visible without making it loud. Pose and crop are held constant across tiers, so rank shows in the trim, not in the staging.
3. Glasses and grey sweeps both fight the key. Several physicians wear glasses, and lenses pick up the softbox as white streaks. The key is raised and swung until reflections clear the pupils, then the backdrop is metered so it stays a flat mid grey behind every subject.
4. A medical register needs warmth, not drama. Low-key contrast reads as authority in a boardroom and as coldness in a clinic. The light ratio is kept gentle and expressions are directed toward calm and approachable, which is the register patients book.
Our Approach
The physician frames.
Frames for the plain-coat tier keep the stance simple: hands in pockets or at the side, direct eye contact, a closed-mouth read. The simplicity is the message, and it survives small thumbnails on a booking page.
The senior-tier frames.
Gold-trimmed coats get slightly more staged poses, arms crossed or a hand to the coat pocket, with smiles allowed wider. The trim plus the stance marks seniority without a caption.
One light map for the whole library.
Camera, lens, light positions and backdrop exposure are locked for the session, and each subject is metered against the same test frame. New team members photographed later can be matched into the same system.
Retouching for a clinical register.
Coat lint and creases are cleaned, the sweep goes to a uniform grey, and skin is evened while keeping texture. The grade stays neutral and bright, in line with the clinical subject.
"Patients read a team page in seconds. A matched library of calm, well-lit coats says organized practice before a single credential is read." — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions
How is a medical team portrait session priced?
Team portrait sessions are billed from $800/day per photography team, with makeup fees itemized separately when they apply. Send your headcount and we return a written per-project quote.
Can you photograph our doctors at the clinic?
Yes. A portable sweep and light kit recreate this studio setup on site, so physicians are away from their schedules for minutes each.
How do you keep a large staff library consistent?
One light map, one lens, one backdrop exposure, locked for the session and documented for future hires. New portraits slot into the existing library without a visible break.
What is the turnaround?
Standard delivery is 3-5 business days from shoot day, including cleanup and grade matching across the full team.
Who owns the portraits?
Your clinic does, under a full commercial license covering web, booking platforms, patient materials and advertising.
