AIMI Visual Media produced an eighty-five-second creative brand film for Jelik, a treadmill and fitness equipment maker, shot in studio and a working gym. Built on founder emotion rather than product parameters, the native 1920x1080 landscape film runs at 25fps and was delivered in seven business days for the brand website, trade show openers, and social channels.

Fitness equipment creative films go one of two ways: talk about the product, or talk about the people. Jelik’s brief let us choose the second, because in a treadmill market where every parameter can be copied, the story of why a founder builds these machines cannot. Two lines of on-screen text carry the whole film: wanting to pass the wonderful feeling of sport to more people, and letting dreams and aspirations meet reality. Every frame goes to the athletes; the treadmill is present in each shot but never interrupts.

Creative Concept

The film sells devotion before it sells hardware, because a treadmill buyer is purchasing an image of a better self, not steel. We framed it as a founder narrative. The opening close-up of a woman’s post-workout face, sweat readable in cool side light, voices the brand’s original intent. The gym ensemble, a woman in black with training partners among the equipment, gives the film human warmth. The closing runner’s silhouette in blue-toned bokeh turns a specific person into everyone. Two subtitle lines repeat twice each, giving eighty-five seconds a musical structure that parameter copy could never supply.

Production

Close-ups ran in cool soft light with side illumination so each sweat bead separates, shallow depth melting the room into atmosphere; fake sweat reads false instantly, so the performer completed a real training load and went straight in front of the lens. The gym block used the venue’s own lighting under a unified blue-green grade, catching interaction between the performers as it happened. For the closing silhouette we shot backlit against defocused lamps, letting slight motion blur carry the runner’s speed. Brand presence stays disciplined throughout: subtitles and a corner mark carry the identity, and the final freeze gives the brand its full position. The whole film sits in a cold-blue cinematic grade.

Production Challenges

1. Sweat close-ups cannot be faked. We filmed immediately after real exertion: the performer finished a genuine training load and stepped straight to camera, because the state of sweat on skin betrays any spray-bottle shortcut. Those few seconds of honesty are where the film’s credibility lives.

2. Eighty-five seconds without product shots can lose its spine. We built a three-beat emotional structure: the close-up creates resonance, the ensemble adds warmth, and the silhouette closes with strength. Each of the two subtitle lines appears twice, forming a repeating rhythm that holds viewer attention where product copy normally would.

3. Hard logo placement breaks an idealistic narrative. Brand information stays in subtitles and a restrained corner mark through the body of the film, then the closing freeze-frame gives the brand its full space. The treadmill’s handrails and gym equipment remain identifiable in the background, so viewers always know whose ad this is.

Where the Film Lives

The film opens Jelik’s trade show appearances, where the sweat close-up works as a silent attention hook on loop. It fronts the brand website as the company’s statement of intent and circulates on social channels, where a founder narrative earns shares that product specs never would. It also supports dealer and franchise recruitment materials, giving partners the brand’s why before the product sheets arrive. For paid social placement, we recommend checking each platform’s current advertising policy first.

“Sell the love first, then the machine. Nobody buys a treadmill for the steel; they buy the person they imagine becoming, so move them with why you build and the product wants itself sold.” (Garbo) — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a client accept 1 min 25 s with no product talk?

A creative film has a different job. It exists to make the brand remembered and liked, while product parameters belong to the product film and the detail page. In a content mix every piece has a role, and memory and goodwill are precisely the things parameters cannot deliver.

Is the sweat close-up from real exercise?

Yes. The performer completed a real training load and stepped in front of the camera immediately, because the state of sweat cannot be convincingly faked. An ad film’s sense of truth often comes down to those few seconds of seriousness.

Which brands suit a founder narrative?

Brands with a genuine founding motive. A founder who entered the industry out of love holds a differentiation asset, and in a homogenized market why you make something moves people more than what you make. Inventing a story where none exists is a mistake; audiences can tell the difference.

Do aspirational lines like “dreams meeting reality” feel too empty?

The discipline is grounding the copy in footage. The words are abstract but the pictures are concrete: sweat, interaction, a runner’s back, all real sporting moments. Abstract copy held up by concrete images does not float; motivational copy fails when the footage cannot carry it.

How is a creative brand film like this priced?

Creative films with performers and studio work are quoted per project, itemized from your brief: cast, locations, shooting days, and deliverable versions. Share your outline through our contact page and we will return a tailored proposal.

Do you need to book out the whole gym?

It depends on the shot list. This film used shallow depth of field to soften the environment, so shooting in off-peak hours was enough; large ensemble scenes would justify a full buyout. Location cost is assessed at the script stage and scaled to the concept.

Does the product really never appear?

It stays implicitly present. Treadmill handrails and equipment silhouettes are identifiable in the background, and the brand corner mark runs throughout. The restraint is deliberate; viewers know this is a treadmill ad, and the detailed close-ups belong to the product film.

Why end on a back silhouette instead of a face?

It is an open ending. A face is one specific person, but a back can be anyone, so viewers project themselves into the runner. That projection converts watching into identification, which is the highest state an ad film can reach: the audience becomes the protagonist.

How long does a creative brand film take?

Standard turnaround is five to seven business days covering concept and script, the studio and gym shoot, and post-production; this film delivered in seven. Performer scheduling and gym access windows are locked during pre-production to protect the timeline.
