AIMI Visual Media produced a 43-second brand film for the mysit gaming desk, aimed at esports and home-office buyers: a red logo opener, fast structure and scene sections, no voiceover. Shot on Canon 5D4 with slider moves at 1920×1080, 25fps, delivered in 5 business days.

mysit came to us with a desk aimed at esports players and home-office users, and the brief was explicit: brand first. Inside 43 seconds, the name mysit had to stick before the product’s structure and feel came through. We executed to that: a red brand ident opens the film, then fast-paced structure and usage scenes follow, with no voiceover anywhere, and rhythm, captions, and picture carrying the “professional esports gear” temperament. The frame stays 1920×1080 landscape throughout.

Creative Concept
Gaming desks are a lookalike category; tops, steel legs, and lift mechanisms match across brands, and what buyers finally remember is the name. So the first five seconds belong entirely to the mysit red ident lighting up against light grey, the brand landing before any product frame. After that, the product pictures have an owner. The 43 seconds split as 5 seconds of brand, 25 of structure, 13 of scene payoff, tight without dragging, because in a category where every spec sheet looks good, the film’s first job is answering why this name, and only then why it is good.
Production
Video beats photos on big furniture because structure can be shown in motion: leg steel thickness, edge banding on the top, the lift or fold mechanism working. We ran the Canon 5D4 on a slider for orbiting moves, the desk turning slowly open in front of the lens so structural relationships read at a glance. Top close-ups sit at low angles with side light so the banding and surface texture stay visible. Load-bearing and stability come through real press-and-shake test footage, which persuades more than a caption saying sturdy. Black tops reflect everything, so all lights wear softboxes at raised angles and black flags cut stray reflections.
Production Challenges
1. Moving big furniture inside a studio. A gaming desk eats time on entry, assembly, and positioning, so the desk arrived and was assembled a day early; shoot day was lens adjustments, no hauling. The camera-position map was fixed at the scout, which is how a product this size still finishes on schedule.
2. Reflections on a black desktop. Black gloss reflects lamps and gear, so every light wore a softbox at a raised angle, leaving one soft highlight band across the top. Black flags on the camera side cut ambient reflections, and unavoidable equipment ghosts were removed in post. The frame stays clean.
3. Fast pace versus clear information. Brand, structure, and scenes inside 43 seconds can turn chaotic, so the edit splits into functional modules, one information point per section, joined by brand-color transitions. Each block lands its single message before the next starts, keeping the pace quick without confusing the viewer.

Where the Film Lives
This brand film fits three slots: the flagship store brand video position and the detail page first screen, where the ident reads strongly in the furniture category; content-channel seeding placements, with 43 seconds matching most in-feed lengths; and looped playback at exhibitions and dealer stores. Gaming buyers live mostly online, so for platform ads we suggest exporting the bitrate version each platform requires and checking its latest policy. The standalone ident lets the client splice it onto future material freely.
In a lookalike category the first five seconds answer why you, and the rest answers why good. A film of nothing but orbiting product leaves no name behind, and a nameless film is money spent for the category, not the brand. — June, Product Photography Team Lead
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a desk this big get into the studio?
Our studio has large-goods access and enough operating room for desks, sofas, and cabinets. The desk was delivered and assembled a day early, so shoot day was lens adjustments only. If transport is inconvenient we can also shoot at your showroom or warehouse, scouting power and camera positions first.
Can you film the RGB lighting effects?
Yes. Lighting effects need the ambient light pressed down, so we dark-field the studio and record each color and mode change individually. The grade follows the actual effect without inflating brightness or color range, which keeps the gap between video and physical product small and avoids after-sales disputes.
How are black desktop reflections handled?
Three measures together: every lamp wears a softbox at a raised angle so the top keeps one soft highlight band; black flags on the camera side block ambient reflections; unavoidable equipment ghosts are removed in post. Dark gloss is a classic furniture problem, and this pipeline leaves the frame clean.
Is 43 seconds enough to explain the structure?
The module split makes it enough: 5 seconds of brand, 25 of structure, 13 of scenes, one information point per section. Furniture films are not better when longer; detail page patience is limited, and 43 seconds completes far better than a two-minute piece. Installation detail belongs in a separate tutorial.
Does a furniture film need models?
It depends on positioning. This film takes the brand and structure route, so no models appear and the product is the absolute protagonist. If the goal is usage scenes and human scale, a model version is a separate route; we decide per product after seeing the physical unit.
How much does a gaming desk brand film cost?
Product videos at AIMI start from $200 per finished video. A multi-deliverable scope like this project, with the master, a clean version, and a standalone brand ident for reuse, is quoted by brief. Share your product size and placement plan and we will send a written quote.
How long does a desk brand film take?
This project ran 5 business days from shoot to delivery, including one revision round. The desk was assembled a day before the shoot, and the camera-position map was fixed at the scout, so the studio day covered all slider and close-up setups without overtime.
Can the brand ident be reused later?
Yes. The delivery includes a standalone brand ident version, so the client can splice it onto future footage freely. Brand and model names in the captions were checked against the client’s VI materials, keeping every reuse consistent with the official writing.
