Aershan Autumn Tourism Promo Film Production

The brief was a pure scenery film for Aershan’s short autumn peak. We built it as a tour of four landforms: Luming Lake’s S-shaped waterway winding through golden forest, Santanxia gorge where golden larch and crimson shrubs line the stream, harvested fields shot straight down until the hay bales read as abstract texture, and a closing grassland where autumn trees sit like stones set in gold. Caption calligraphy names the park and then stays out of the way.

Creative Concept

The first law of a tourism film is to let the scenery speak. Aershan’s autumn needs no narrator; it needs the right position at the right hour. The cut runs on the rhythm of a scenic tour: water, gorge, field, grassland, four landforms in four compositions of roughly thirty seconds each, so the viewer’s visual freshness never drops. Captions appear sparingly because site names are practical trip-planning information. Everything else on screen belongs to the landscape itself.

Production

The film is mostly aerial work. Luming Lake was flown from a high position to take the full S-curve of the waterway. Santanxia combined low-altitude passes with gorge-level framing so stream and forest color kept their depth. The fields went vertical, top-down, with texture as the composition target. The grassland waited for angled side light, when long shadows enrich the autumn layers. Golden hour was the only gaffer on this shoot: low-angle light after sunrise and before sunset is autumn’s best color renderer. A gray card fixed the white balance baseline on location, and the grade was calibrated against the real scene.

Production Challenges

1. Aershan’s peak color lasts only two to three weeks. We locked the phenology window in advance, then flew dense multi-sortie days with sites scheduled by light period, pulling two days of material out of each day. Inside a window this short, scheduling discipline is the whole production plan, and every sortie leaves with a target list.

2. Forest and canyon flying carries real signal risk. Takeoff points were chosen on open ground, flights stayed within visual line of sight, and the gorge routes were planned before arrival. Signal blockage from trees and canyon walls is a genuine hazard, so contingency plans and insurance are standard kit.

3. Autumn gold drifts off true color very easily. A gray card set the white balance baseline on location, and the grade was checked against memory of the real scene. Larch gold must read true, neither orange nor green. Most autumn films that fail do so on color shift alone.
