A morning-mood catalog asks for light that feels like a window, not a softbox. This session photographed the Sunshine Series, a ditsy blue floral push-up set and a blush pink lace style with grey and dusty rose colorways, in a European interior set with raised panel molding, frosted damask glass and a marble mantel. Both frames were delivered as layout masters: hero images with quiet zones for the series headline and specification blocks, and colorway thumbnails laid into the same spread.

Photography Challenges
1. Window light that is not a window. The morning read needs a large soft source with a believable direction. A big diffused key through the damask glass side of the set gives the frame its window logic, while a warm bounce fill keeps the floral print from going flat against the cream molding.
2. A ditsy print moires against itself. Small floral repeats fight a sensor at the wrong sharpening radius. Capture sharpening is kept low and texture is rebuilt in post at catalog size, so the print reads as fabric, not as a pattern buzz.
3. Colorway thumbnails must match the hero. The layout places grey and dusty rose thumbnails beside the blush hero. All three frames share one light map and one grade, so the buyer reads a color option, not a different photoshoot.
4. Spec zones in a bright set blow out. On-image text over a high-key interior dies against highlights. The composition parks the model off the text side and holds the mantel zone a half-stop down, keeping white layout type readable without a plate behind it.
Our Approach
The floral hero frame.
Frame 1 carries the series: the model laughing upward in the ditsy floral set, damask glass glowing behind her, with the specification block reserved over the quiet wall zone and the matching grey style inset for the spread.
The colorway layout frame.
Frame 2 is the selling spread: the blush pink hero large at left, grey and dusty rose colorway thumbnails stacked at right, each with its own size block, so the catalog prices three colorways from one page.
Lighting for a morning grade.
The key is big, soft and high from the glass side, with a warm card fill from the mantel side. Highlights stay just below clip on the molding, so the frame reads bright without chalky skin.
Post-production for a layout master.
Both spreads are matched to one warm morning grade, print texture is preserved at catalog zoom, and overlay zones are verified at final size so the delivered masters drop straight into the Sunshine Series template.
"A colorway thumbnail is a promise that the hero color is not the only option. Light it like the hero, not like an afterthought." — Garbo, Director of Photography
