A catalog layout frame has two jobs: sell the set and carry the text. This session photographed a champagne underwire set with bronze floral embroidery, plus its semi-sheer wrap gown, on a rococo chair set with polished silver scrollwork, burgundy velvet and a smoked mirror wall. Both frames were composed with quiet background zones so the brand's on-image SKU, size and color blocks stay legible, and delivered as full commercial layout masters for the catalog.

Photography Challenges
1. A champagne set on a dark baroque set disappears by default. Nude-tone fabric against burgundy velvet and black mirror panels loses its edges fast. A warm key with a tight rim along the shoulder and hip separates skin and fabric from the set, and exposure is anchored on the embroidery so the bronze thread keeps its detail.
2. Embroidery has to survive catalog zoom. The bronze floral work across the cups is the price signal of the set. The key light is angled to rake across the embroidery instead of hitting it flat, so the stitched relief reads at full-size crop without clipping to white.
3. Staged haze can flatten the product. Atmospheric smoke gives the baroque set its mood, but haze over the product kills fabric texture. The haze is flagged behind the model line, keeping the bra plane clean while the background carries the atmosphere.
4. On-image spec blocks need negative space built in. The catalog layout places product code, size and color blocks directly on the image. Both frames reserve low-detail background areas at the overlay positions, so the white layout text stays readable without dropping a shadow plate behind it.
Our Approach
The seated hero frame.
Frame 1 builds the campaign read: the model seated into the rococo chair with a lavender feather fascinator, the bra and brief fully legible against the smoked mirror wall, and the spec block sitting over the quiet chair area at mid-left.
The diptych sales frame.
Frame 2 pairs two sells in one layout: the wrap gown layered over the set for the sleepwear cross-sell, and the set alone with the fascinator for the main product slot. Each panel carries its own SKU row, so the brand prices the gown and the set from one image.
Lighting for silver, velvet and skin.
Polished silver scrollwork flares under any hard key, so the light is flagged off the chair trim and feathered across the model. Deep shadows stay behind the panel line, keeping the frame dark without swallowing the champagne fabric.
Post-production for a layout master.
Panels are matched to one warm grade, the mirror wall is cleaned of stray reflections, and skin keeps its texture under the hard light. Overlay zones are checked at final size so the delivered masters drop straight into the catalog template.
"On a layout frame the text zones are part of the composition. Reserve the quiet background before the first frame, not in retouch." — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions
How is a catalog layout session priced?
On-model lingerie sessions are billed from $800/day per photography team, with model, makeup, set build and styling itemized separately. We return a written per-project quote after a brief call.
Can you compose for on-image text blocks?
Yes. Share the layout template before the shoot and we reserve low-detail zones at the overlay positions, so SKU, size and color text stays legible without post fixes.
Can one session cover a set and its layered gown?
Yes. We shoot the set alone for the main product slots and layer the gown for cross-sell panels, on one light map and one shoot day.
What is the turnaround?
Standard delivery is 5-7 business days from shoot day, including retouching and grade matching across the set.
Who owns the images?
Your brand does, under a full commercial license covering catalog, marketplace, social and advertising use.
