The client sells a two-tone seat cover with breathable mesh contact panels and faux leather accents, offered in six colorways. One physical set was photographed installed in the cabin, and the remaining colorways were produced in retouch, with cabin trim matched to each accent so every variant reads as factory-coordinated. All frames were produced at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges

1. One physical sample, six sellable options. Photographing six produced colorways would multiply cost for a line still testing demand. The all-black set gets one careful in-car shoot, and the five accent colorways are built in retouch from that locked base frame.

2. Recolor must survive the weave. The mesh contact panels alias if color is painted over them. Selective masks follow the material boundaries, so accent color lands on the faux leather panels while the knit texture keeps its structure.

3. Cabin trim has to follow the accent. A red-accent seat inside a brown-trim cabin reads as a mockup. The door and console trim is regraded to coordinate with each colorway, so every variant presents as a designed interior rather than a swapped seat.

Our Approach

One locked hero shoot.

The base frame is shot from the open driver door with windows darkened, camera locked, so every downstream colorway shares identical geometry, light and shadow.

Colorway extension in retouch.

Frames 01-05 extend the base into red, purple, saddle, espresso and white accents, with trim regraded per variant and weave masks protecting the mesh panels.

Consistency audit per variant.

Each colorway is checked against the base at 100 percent for mask drift before delivery, so stitching lines and control cutouts stay identical across the set.

"Colorway extension pays when the base frame is disciplined. Lock the camera once, and every new color is a retouch decision instead of a reshoot." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a shoot-plus-colorway-extension set priced?

The in-car hero frame sits in our Growth package from $35 per image, white-background versions start from $12 per image under Essential, and full A+ Content sets start from $80 per SKU under Premium. All rates are starting prices, and the final quote depends on your requirements.

How many colorways can one base shoot support?

As many as your line needs. Once the hero frame is locked, additional colorways are a retouch task rather than a reshoot, which is why sellers use extension for lines still testing demand.

Will buyers notice the extension?

Done with material-boundary masks and trim regrading, variants read as coordinated interiors. This set is an honest example: one shoot, six purchasable color presentations.

Can we add white-background versions for marketplace slots?

Yes. Pure white-background shots for Amazon main image slots start from $12 per image under our Essential package. All final files are delivered at 2000x2000px sRGB, which exceeds Amazon's 1000px minimum requirement for the zoom feature, and include a full commercial license.
