A herbal line lives or dies on whether the buyer believes the ingredient story. So the set was built from the formula itself: dried mugwort scattered on linen, loofah and rattan under the bottles, porcelain dishes of actual bath-salt blends, and the woven bamboo the gift packs are made from. Nothing in frame is decoration; everything is evidence.

Photography Challenges

1. Thirteen SKUs without visual chaos. The range spans bottles, jars, roll-ons, sachets, salts and woven packs. Group frames had to stay readable, with each product earning its place instead of filling space.

2. Making oil look like oil. Golden mugwort oil in clear clamp jars goes flat under frontal light. It needed transmitted light to glow, plus a clean meniscus and visible viscosity at the dropper tip.

3. Natural props that do not look dirty. Dried herbs, loofah and raw bamboo read as authentic or as mess depending on placement and light. Every leaf was placed, none was scattered by hand.

Our Approach

A fixed prop library

All thirteen frames draw from one kit: rattan mats, crumpled linen, porcelain dishes, loofah, dried mugwort, woven bamboo. That is what makes the range feel like one world across a long catalog page.

Backlight for liquids

Oils and serums were lit from behind and below so the gold transmits through glass, with flagged front fill holding label text. The dropper frame catches a single falling drop at the meniscus.

Hero group architecture

The full-range frame was built in tiers: woven gift packs as the back anchor, jars and bottles in the middle, ingredient dishes and small formats in front. Depth does the organizing, not size sorting.

"For ingredient-led brands, the props are the product. Photograph the mugwort, the salt and the bamboo with the same care as the bottle, and the formula story tells itself." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you source natural styling props for herbal products?

Yes. We keep a natural materials library in the studio, from rattan and linen to dried botanicals, and we source specific ingredients like dried mugwort or bath-salt blends when the formula story needs the real thing.

How do you photograph oils so they glow?

With transmitted light from behind the glass, plus careful angle control so the label stays readable. The glow comes from the liquid itself; the lighting just lets it through.

Can one shoot cover both singles and group shots?

Yes. We shoot singles first while the set is clean, then build up to the full-range group frames. One session, one prop library, every catalog slot covered.

An ingredient story that deserves to be photographed, not just claimed?

Send the range. We will build the set from your formula and deliver frames where the props prove what the label promises.
