Eight industrial wet and dry vacuums from the INNISS range: single-tank carts, squeegee-equipped units and three-phase machines with separate power enclosures, photographed as one family with mirror-polished tanks kept clean and every fitting readable at catalog size across the range page.

A mirror-polished stainless tank is a studio portrait wrapped around a product: it reflects everything in the room. Eight machines ran through a lighting plan built around that tank, with controlled strip reflections down the steel and each model’s own hardware, hoses, squeegees, power cabinets, kept forward and legible.
| Project Overview | |

| Product type | Industrial wet and dry vacuums, eight models |
| Deliverables | One catalog frame per model |

Photography Challenges
1. Tanks that mirror the whole studio. The polished drums reflect 360 degrees of room. White cards and black flags were arranged as a deliberate reflection set, so the tanks carry clean vertical highlights instead of a map of our equipment.
2. Eight models, eight personalities. Tank carts, cage frames and three-phase units differ wildly in silhouette. Camera height stayed constant while distance and slight angle were tuned per model, keeping the family look without forcing identical framing.
3. Orange casters that shout. The bright polyurethane wheels pull the eye from the product. Exposure and placement kept them readable but subordinate, present as hardware rather than as the frame’s subject.
Our Approach
Reflection set design
The card and flag arrangement around each machine was treated as a designed reflection: one long clean highlight down the tank, everything else flagged out.
Family template with flex
One camera height and background, per-model distance and angle tuning. The range reads as one manufacturer’s line with distinct models.
Hardware-forward framing
Each model was oriented to bring its defining hardware forward: squeegee, basket, power cabinet or hose set, so the frames differentiate function at a glance.
"Polished stainless machinery is reflection management, full stop. Design what the tank reflects and the machine looks engineered; leave it to chance and the catalog photographs your studio instead." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you photograph mirror-polished tanks?
By designing the reflection. Cards and flags around the machine create one clean highlight down the steel and block everything else. The tank then reads as polished metal rather than as a photo of our studio.
Can eight different models stay consistent?
Yes. Camera height and background stay fixed while distance and angle flex per silhouette. The catalog gains one family look without forcing different machines into identical frames.
Do hoses and accessories appear in the frames?
Where they define the model, yes. Squeegees, hose sets and accessory baskets are fitted and framed forward, because industrial buyers compare configurations, not just silhouettes.
Polished machinery that keeps photographing your studio?
Send the range. We will design the reflections and give every model its hardware-forward frame in one family template.
