The client is a cafe chain refreshing its menu: fruit teas, milk cap teas, bubble tea, smoothies, iced coffee and plated desserts. The frames had to read as one menu system, so the sets are bright and pastel with consistent table surfaces and prop language. All 12 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges

1. Twelve items, one menu system. Different drinks and desserts slide into visual chaos if each gets its own mood. The pastel palette and table surfaces stay constant, so the fruit tea and the lava cake read as pages of the same menu.

2. Foam and melt have separate clocks. Milk cap foam holds for minutes, shaved ice melts in seconds. The frame sequence is built around the melting item: shaved ice is shot last in its setup, and the camera is locked before the pour.

3. Layered drinks need a clear glass read. The mango smoothie and iced coffee rely on visible layers. A backlight through the glass separates the layers, and the front fill keeps the garnish readable.

Our Approach

Drink block.

Frames 01-07 cover the drinks: fruit tea, milk cap, bubble tea, smoothie, strawberry milk tea, matcha latte and iced coffee, each on a pastel cafe table with ingredient props.

Dessert block.

Frames 08-10 plate the desserts: waffle, lava cake and fruit tart, with the lava cake cut open to show the molten center.

Coffee and group closers.

Frames 11-12 finish with the iced coffee on a blue set and the full-range group shot for the menu cover.

Post-production and delivery.

Retouching cleaned melt tracks and foam overshoot, matched the pastel grade, and delivered 2000x2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.

"A cafe menu is a system of moods, not twelve photos. Lock the pastel family, then let each drink and dessert own its frame." — June, Product Photography Team Lead
