AIMI Visual Media produced a 6 min 49 s brand promo video for a baby diaper label, filmed inside the brand’s own research and development laboratory. Shot at 1920x1080 with high-key 5500K LED lighting, the film follows a lab-coat presenter through absorption tests and product close-ups, with a 1 minute cutdown delivered alongside in 7 to 15 business days.

The client briefed us for a brand film, not a hard-sell ad. In the mother-and-baby category parents buy reassurance before price, so the agreed direction was research strength plus safety testing as the narrative spine. The presenter walks and talks through the lab instead of standing in one spot, and the moving camera uses the changing scenery to cut the rhythm, so no single frame holds for more than about thirty seconds.

Creative Concept
A diaper purchase is an anxiety decision: parents want proof, not promises, so we structured the film as an evidence chain. The first thirty seconds raise the safety question parents actually ask, the middle chapters walk through raw materials, lab testing, and a measured absorption demo in one-to-two-minute segments, and the ending lands back on the brand promise. Because the buyer is a cautious parent, the presenter speaks like an engineer rather than a salesperson, and the laboratory does the persuading.
Production
The lab was lit blue-white and high-key to read clean and professional. Two 5500K LED constant lights with CRI above 95 filled the presenter from left and right at about 1.5 meters, a third unit lifted the reagent shelves so the glassware kept its layers, and every source went through a softbox because the black benchtop reflected hard. We alternated 35mm and 50mm focal lengths: medium shots for the narration, tight close-ups for the experiments, at f/2.8 to f/4, 1/50 second shutter, ISO held under 400. Post covered edit, grade, subtitles, and licensed music.
Production Challenges
1. A working lab bench crowds the frame fast. Glassware and reagent bottles multiply visual noise, so before each setup we cleared the bench against the shot list and kept only the props that specific lens needed. The discipline took minutes per setup and saved the edit from cluttered frames that would have undercut the clean, professional read of the laboratory.
2. White coats and white bottles clip highlights easily. Against the bright background we exposed for the presenter’s face and pulled exposure down one third of a stop, letting the white lab coat and reagent bottles sit just under clipping. In the grade we lifted white brightness back, so the frame stays high-key without blown detail.
3. Long films invite missed shots and lost media. Nearly seven minutes of finished film means heavy footage volume. On set we ticked every setup off the storyboard sheet as it wrapped, backed all media up twice the same day, and ran the checklist again before the rough cut, which closed coverage gaps before they could become reshoots.

Where the Film Lives
The film works as a trust asset: it loops on the brand hall of the client website, supports franchise and distribution talks, and plays at trade show booths. For Douyin and WeChat Channels, the lab-demo sections cut down into science-style clips that perform best in this category. Clients with export business can add English subtitles to the same footage for an overseas version, so one shoot serves several markets.
A mother-and-baby film is an evidence chain, not a poem. Real instruments, real procedures, and real numbers on camera persuade harder than any adjective we could write. When in doubt, show the test. — June, Product Photography Team Lead
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a product promo video like this cost?
Product videos at AIMI start from $200 per finished video. A long brand film like this one, with script development, a multi-area lab shoot, fine editing, and a cutdown, is quoted by brief scope. Send us your product, duration target, and usage, and we return an itemized quote.
Who writes the script and the narration?
We draft both. After a briefing meeting that lists your selling points, certifications, and the concerns you want to defuse, we deliver a storyboarded script for review. Narration is rewritten into spoken language so the presenter never sounds like a manual, and your marketing and technical teams can both comment.
Can you provide the on-camera presenter?
Yes, we can cast presenters with hosting experience who learn the script and product knowledge in advance. Often your own R&D lead or founder performs even better, because a real identity is itself proof of trust; in that case we handle on-set direction and keep the delivery natural.
What does a factory or lab shoot need from us?
Book a location scout about a week ahead: we confirm which areas can be filmed, cleanliness requirements, and any confidential processes to avoid. On shoot day one contact person coordinates with us, and any production-line footage follows your plant safety rules, scheduled off-peak so normal work continues.
How do you film absorption tests convincingly?
We run the test for real on camera: a measured water dose, a timer, and a tissue press to check re-wet, covered in close-up from start to finish. Parameters follow the standards your technical department provides, recorded truthfully without exaggeration, which is exactly why these shots persuade parents.
How do you keep a long film from dragging?
Structure first: chapters with one theme each. Picture second: narration alternates with demos, and no talking segment runs past thirty seconds without a cut to an experiment or close-up. If the rough cut still feels slow, we drop whole weak sections rather than chopping them into fragments.
How long does a brand promo like this take?
After script sign-off, shooting takes one to two days, and editing, grading, and packaging deliver a first cut in 7 to 15 business days, with two revision rounds included. Rush first cuts in 48 hours are possible; for trade show deadlines, start about a month ahead.
Can we get still photos during the same shoot?
Yes. Between video setups we capture lab, product, and team photos for your website and brochures, which costs far less than booking a separate photo session. Confirm the photo list before the shoot and we work through it on set; photo and video assets are managed together.
How is music licensing handled?
The score comes from a licensed commercial music library covering online distribution. If you plan TV or large-screen outdoor placement, tell us the placement scope in advance and we match the license tier accordingly, with that cost itemized upfront so there are no copyright disputes later.
