AIMI Visual Media produced a 36-second landscape function video for a whole-house custom brand, presenting a tatami lift table, integrated cabinets and a combined desk-wardrobe room. Shot at 1080p 25fps on a Sony A7M4 with FE 16-35mm F2.8 and 50mm F1.2 GM lenses, the master was delivered in 8 business days with a ProRes 422 file.

The client’s multifunction room packs a tatami platform with a lift table, full-height cabinets and an integrated desk and wardrobe into one small footprint, and its buyers live with space anxiety. We built the film on a single daily route: morning tea on the tatami, daytime work at the desk, evening tea around the raised table, night-time storage at the wardrobe. Warm 3000K downlights and wood tones carry the feeling of home, with bright yellow open shelves as the memory hook.

Creative Concept

Small-space custom furniture sells one promise: one room, several lives. So the video follows a resident’s day rather than a camera operator’s convenience. Each function zone appears in use order, which lets viewers read the spatial relationships instead of guessing them from disconnected pans. The warm grade at 3200K keeps white cabinets honest while protecting the cozy tone, and the yellow open shelving punctuates the wood palette so the room stays in the viewer’s memory after the clip ends.

Production

We recorded 1080p at 25fps on a Sony A7M4. The FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM at 16mm covered full-room wides, while the FE 50mm F1.2 GM isolated drawer slides, the lift mechanism and door hinges. Movement combined slider passes with handheld follow shots, traveling from the door to the desk and across to the tatami so the room’s depth reads in one breath. On-site 3000K downlights stayed as key, with an Aputure 300D II adding face-level fill at a unified 3200K. Post ran Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and After Effects.

Production Challenges

1. At 16mm, cabinets near the frame edges stretch. We fixed camera height at 1.2 meters and held the camera level with no tilt, kept key cabinetry out of the four corners when composing, and removed the residual distortion with lens correction in Premiere Pro. Straight lines stay straight.

2. Warm light pushes white cabinets yellow and white balance drifts. We locked manual color temperature at 3200K, calibrated with a gray card off the white cabinet itself, then matched every shot in DaVinci Resolve so wides and close-ups share one tone. The cabinets stay white, the room stays warm, and no shot drifts.

3. Cutting between function zones can feel disjointed. We shot the main line as a continuous walk-through along the daily route, then inserted function close-ups with action matches, a drawer opening cutting to its interior, so every transition is motivated by use and the space reads as one room.

Where the Film Lives

The landscape master runs on the brand website’s custom channel, furniture-mall showroom screens, exhibition booth displays and designer pitch materials. A 30-second vertical cut serves Douyin home accounts, WeChat Channels promotion and Xiaohongshu (RED) brand posts. Full-room wides and function-detail frames were pulled as detail-page layout images and case-study pictures for home-design platforms, extending one shoot day across web, offline and social.

June: In a space video, the route is the story. Follow how a person actually lives and the room explains itself; pan across empty corners and no one learns what the cabinets can hold. — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a whole-house custom space video cost?

Product videos at AIMI start from $200 per finished video. A project like this one, covering script, a sample-room shoot day, grading and several delivery formats, is quoted against your brief. Send the details and our team returns an itemized quote the same day.

How long does a space video take?

This project took 8 business days in total: 3 for script and scene confirmation, 1 for the sample-room shoot and 4 for editing and grading. Rush schedules can be discussed with our team before booking.

What can one room produce?

Four shot groups: full-space wides for layout, function zones in use (sleep, work, storage, leisure), hardware close-ups like drawer slides, lift tables and hinges, and material details. A standard multifunction room yields one 30-to-60-second film.

How should we prepare the space?

Have the room fully installed and cleaned, circuits and the lift table tested, and soft furnishings placed. Provide your selling-point list, brand guidelines and design drawings, so the shoot day goes to camera work instead of fixes.

How do you keep white cabinets white in warm light?

We lock manual color temperature at 3200K, calibrate with a gray card off the white cabinet, then match all shots in DaVinci Resolve. The room keeps its warmth while the cabinets stay white across wides and close-ups.

How do you avoid wide-angle distortion?

Camera height fixed at 1.2 meters, level framing with no tilt, key cabinets kept away from the frame corners, and lens correction in Premiere Pro for what remains. Vertical lines in the room stay vertical on screen.

Why shoot a continuous walking shot?

Viewers understand space by movement, not by pans. A single route through the zones shows how the room connects, and action-matched close-ups, like a drawer opening into its interior, keep every cut motivated and natural.

What formats are delivered?

A 36-second landscape master in MP4 (H.264/H.265) plus a ProRes 422 MOV master, with an optional 30-second vertical cut for Douyin, WeChat Channels and Xiaohongshu (RED). Frames for detail pages and case images can be pulled from the grade.
