AIMI Visual Media produced an 85 second concept video for Luyuan, presenting the brand’s fluorescent green electric vehicle inside a futuristic white laboratory space. Shot on a Sony FX6 at 4K and 25fps, the project delivered a 3840x2160 master plus a 30 second vertical cut in 14 business days.

Luyuan wanted a concept film for launch events, the website homepage, and social channels, aimed at young buyers who choose vehicles on technology feel. The agreed direction was laboratory reveal plus concept display: a pure white future space, LED light strips for atmosphere, the fluorescent green concept vehicle as the sole color anchor, and backlit human silhouettes up front for mystery. No traditional product explanation anywhere in the cut.

Creative Concept

Electric vehicle buyers lean harder on technology feel and future feel every year, so we dropped the spec readout and sold the space around the product. A white room with a geometric sloped ceiling and LED strips reads as a laboratory; the fluorescent green body is the only saturated object inside it, which pulls every eye; foreground silhouettes hint at a reveal without showing a face. For young buyers who equate design confidence with engineering confidence, the atmosphere itself is the argument.

Production

The Sony FX6 with the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM recorded 4K at 25fps from a DJI RS3 gimbal. The on-set LED strips acted as the main source, with an Aputure 600D Pro filling at a cool white 6500K to 7500K and CRI 97 or higher for the science-fiction tone. Foreground figures were lit purely from behind to read as silhouettes, while the vehicle sat in its own spotlight, building a bright-against-dark contrast. Premiere Pro cut the film, DaVinci Resolve carried the blue-white grade with the green body isolated for its own correction, and After Effects added motion graphics.

Production Challenges

1. Cool white scenes drift in color temperature. Every fixture on set was locked to 6500K so the room stayed consistent, then DaVinci Resolve nudged the whole image toward blue-white while keeping warm spill out. The fluorescent green body was corrected in isolation so it stayed saturated without shifting hue or picking up the cool cast.

2. The concept body and LED strips kept blowing out. We controlled overall exposure with ND filters and flagged the light strips locally to cap their brightness. In the grade, power windows pulled highlights down and lifted shadows, which kept the strip lines crisp against the white set and the bodywork reflections controlled.

3. Silhouettes lose their outline fast. The backlight angle was calculated so each figure carried a defined rim along the whole contour, and every setup was shot three to five times. We kept the take with the cleanest edge; a silhouette with a broken outline reads as a lighting error rather than a mystery.

Where the Film Lives

The horizontal master opens the product launch event, headlines the Luyuan website homepage, loops on experience store screens, and plays on booth LED walls at industry expos. The 30 second vertical cut runs as Douyin in-feed ads, WeChat Channels promotion, a pinned Xiaohongshu (RED) brand post, and a submission to Bilibili’s technology section. Key frames were pulled for launch posters and social media covers.

Atmosphere comes before function in a concept film: let the room impress first and the product inherits the curiosity. Keep one eye on the production model, though. A concept film that promises more than the factory can ship costs the brand later. — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an electric vehicle concept video take?

On this project, script and scene confirmation took 5 business days, set build or modification 3 days, shooting 1 to 2 days, and editing with grading 5 business days, for 14 business days total. Expedited scheduling can compress that to 9 business days; confirm with our team first.

How much does an electric vehicle concept film cost?

Concept films are quoted per project based on production scale and length. We itemize the estimate from your brief: script development, set build or modification, studio time, edit, grade, and music. Share your brief through our contact page and we return a line-item quote.

What should we provide for a vehicle shoot?

The vehicle itself, ideally two units so the best-presented one goes on camera, plus a selling-point list, brand VI specifications, and the technical parameter sheet. Vehicles should arrive cleaned, adjusted, and fully charged. Special functions such as lighting or app connectivity should be tested before the shoot day.

Who writes the script, and how many revisions are included?

Our planning team writes the first draft, and concept projects include 3 free revision rounds because marketing and product departments usually both review. Allow generous time for that dual sign-off. After the storyboard is confirmed, large structural changes are no longer practical.

Can you shoot at a location we choose?

Yes. Beyond studio builds we shoot real locations such as test grounds, city streets, and charging stations, subject to venue permission and safety measures. Travel and location fees are billed at cost, and we recommend scouting 3 days ahead to lock camera positions and light.

Can real riders appear on camera?

Yes. Riding footage with real people is available as an add-on, with rider and model fees billed separately. Riders must wear safety gear and sign a safety agreement, the riding venue must be legal and insured, and anyone recognizable on camera signs a likeness release.

What formats do you deliver, and for which platforms?

Standard delivery is MP4 in H.265. The 16:9 master suits the website, launch screens, and expo LED walls; the 9:16 vertical fits Douyin and WeChat Channels; a 1:1 square covers Xiaohongshu and WeChat Moments. A ProRes 422 MOV master is available for re-editing.

Who handles music licensing?

We select from a licensed music library with commercial rights, included in the quote. If you specify a particular commercial track, you secure that license or we substitute a library track in the same style. The same licensed-library rule covers fonts, stock footage, and effects.

Can the schedule be expedited?

Yes. The standard cycle on a concept project like this is 14 business days, and an expedited path compresses it to 9. Rush feasibility depends on set-build and crew availability, so raise it early; our team will confirm scheduling and any rush fees.

How do remote clients handle the vehicle logistics?

The workflow runs online: scripts in shared documents, scene plans confirmed through 3D renderings on video calls, finals delivered by cloud transfer. The vehicle can be shipped directly to our studio with freight and insurance on us, or delivered and collected in person by appointment.
