AIMI Visual Media produced a product ad running 3 minutes 25 seconds for Meikong’s kitchen fume purification equipment, opening on real urban air pollution before presenting the solution. Shot on a Sony FX6 at 4K and 25fps with bilingual subtitles, the film was delivered in 10 business days.

Meikong needed the film to work on the brand website, at environmental trade shows, and in distributor presentations, speaking to purchasing decision makers at restaurant chains, hotels, and commercial kitchens. The brief ruled out opening with parameters. Instead the first 30 seconds run oppressive footage of haze, exhaust stacks, and kitchen fumes in a low-saturation blue-grey grade, with subtitles naming car exhaust, industrial emissions, and kitchen fumes before the Meikong solution enters.

Creative Concept

Environmental equipment ads fail when they open with a spec sheet, so this film argues problem first. Thirty seconds of haze-bound city, stack emissions, and kitchen grease smoke build urgency in a desaturated blue-grey palette; then the grade warms and brightens as the purifier runs, and the contrast between polluted and clean does the persuading. Buyers in catering and hospitality respond to proof, so the film closes its case with before-and-after air quality readings rather than adjectives.

Production

Exteriors were shot in industrial districts and along traffic corridors on the Sony FX6 with the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM at 1/50 second and 25fps, with haze scenes underexposed by a third of a stop to hold detail in the smoke plumes. Equipment footage ran at the client factory, where an Aputure 600D Pro through a softbox lit the metal housings and a polarizer on the lens controlled reflections. A baritone voiceover carries the narration, with Chinese and English subtitles composited in post so one master serves domestic and export use.

Production Challenges

1. Pollution footage has to stay watchable. Too grey and viewers tune out. The dark opener was held strictly under 30 seconds, the grade kept the blue-grey base but lifted the midtones, and every subtitle carried a white outline so the text stayed readable against haze backgrounds.

2. Factory floors mix every kind of light. We scheduled factory work for mornings with strong natural light, cleared the equipment zone, and switched every overhead fixture off in favor of our own film lighting. Removing the mixed color temperatures took out the color cast that plagues industrial interiors.

3. Purification is invisible by nature. We made it visible three ways: a smoke demonstration at the intake, particle animation in After Effects to illustrate the process, and an air quality meter showing before-and-after readings at the outlet. Abstract efficiency claims became on-screen evidence a buyer can quote.

Where the Film Lives

The full film headlines the Meikong website, anchors distributor and franchise presentations, plays on booth LED screens at environmental equipment expos, and runs from a tablet during client visits. Shorter edits feed Douyin in-feed ads, WeChat Channels promotion, and WeChat Official Account articles, while the bilingual master serves the brand’s Alibaba international storefront. Before-and-after key frames went into the product catalog and expo posters.

Industrial films live or die on the evidence chain: proof of the problem, proof of the principle, proof of the result. Miss one link and persuasion halves. And keep the dark opening under 30 seconds, or completion rates fall off a cliff. — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a fume purifier video take?

On this project, script planning and confirmation took 3 business days, exterior and factory shooting 2 days, and editing with grading 5 business days, for 10 business days total. Expedited scheduling can compress that to 7 business days; confirm availability with our team.

How much does a purification equipment ad cost?

Equipment ads are quoted per project based on production scale and length. We itemize the estimate from your brief: script development, exterior and factory shooting, edit, grade, music, and bilingual subtitles. Share your brief through our contact page and we return a line-item quote.

What should we provide for the shoot?

One unit of the equipment in good cosmetic condition, purification principle documentation, test reports or certification certificates, and brand VI specifications. Factory shooting needs an agreed time window and safety clearance, and an engineer should be on hand to operate the equipment for the demonstration footage.

Who writes the script, and how many revisions are included?

Our planning team writes the first draft, with 2 free revision rounds included. On technical projects we recommend having an engineer join the script review so the purification principle is stated accurately; that prevents technical rework after the film is already cut.

Can you shoot at our actual project sites?

Yes. Beyond the client factory we shoot at real application sites such as restaurant outlets, commercial kitchens, and hotel back-of-house areas, subject to venue permission and electrical safety. Travel and location fees are billed at cost; scout 3 days ahead to confirm positions and power.

Purification results are invisible. How do you present them?

Three proven methods: a smoke demonstration that shows the suction directly, before-and-after air quality meter readings, and particle animation that illustrates the principle. They can be combined to fit budget. The meter comparison is the most persuasive of the three, so we recommend keeping it.

What formats do you deliver, and for which platforms?

Standard delivery is MP4 in H.265. The 16:9 master suits the website, expo screens, and distributor presentations; the 9:16 vertical fits Douyin and WeChat Channels; a 1:1 square covers WeChat Moments. A ProRes 422 MOV master is available for re-editing and archiving.

Who handles voiceover and subtitles?

We provide voice talent from our library, male or female, in Chinese or English, included in the quote. Subtitles are composited to the narration timeline, with bilingual Chinese-English versions supported. If you want a specific voice style, send a reference; rare languages are quoted separately.

Can the schedule be expedited?

Yes. The standard cycle is 10 business days, compressible to 7 on an expedited path; confirm scheduling and fees with our team. If the film is tied to an expo or a franchise event, start the project 2 weeks ahead to leave room for revisions.

How do remote clients work with you?

The workflow runs online: scripts co-edited in shared documents, shooting plans confirmed over video calls, finals delivered by cloud transfer. Equipment documentation and test reports move through encrypted links. Roughly 30 percent of our clients are outside Guangzhou, and the remote process is well practiced.
