A custom editorial brief covers range, not repetition. Frame 1 is the showpiece: an emerald fairy dress with 3D leaf embellishments and translucent wings, the model holding a glowing lantern on a twilight forest path, composited birds and fireflies completing the storybook frame. Frame 2 turns formal: a black knit blazer with chambray collar lining over white shirt and gold-striped bow tie in a dark green lounge set. Frame 3 goes vintage: a polka-dot brim fedora over blush lace and a zebra ruffle skirt, an ostrich feather across her lap. Frame 4 moves outdoors: a navy quilted bomber, fur ushanka and mustard chinos at a wooded edge. Frame 5 closes soft: a fresh flower crown bust portrait, cream cardigan over coral.

Photography Challenges
1. Composites must keep the garment real. The fairy frame adds wings, birds and glow, but the dress is the product. The base plate is lit and exposed for the dress first; composited elements are blended at lower contrast than the garment, so leaf textures and skirt ombre stay the sharpest story.
2. Five moods can fracture a capsule. Fantasy, formal, vintage, woodland, portrait: the set shares one skin retouch recipe and one black point, so the frames hang together as an editorial family despite the range.
3. Formal black swallows detail. The blazer frame's black knit against dark green walls needs edges: a soft top light separates shoulders from the set, and the white shirt and gold bow tie carry the mid-frame contrast.
4. Woodland backlight flattens knits. Frame 4's wooded edge rims the fur hat but can wash the bomber. Exposure meters on the chest plane, keeping quilt channels and elbow patches readable against the foliage bokeh.
Our Approach
The fairy composite.
Frame 1 shoots the dress and lantern on a real path plate at dusk exposure; wings, birds and sparkle pass in post at reduced contrast, and the lantern glow is graded onto her palms so the light feels physically present.
The formal study.
Frame 2 stands the boy on the armchair seat of a dark green lounge set, hands loose; the cabinet letter fragment is cropped out and the blazer buttons and bow tie stripes hold center.
The vintage frame.
Frame 3 seats the model cross-legged on bleached planks against distressed plaster; the fedora brim dots, lace chain-stitch and zebra ruffle stack three pattern scales without collision.
The woodland and portrait frames.
Frame 4 turns the model over his shoulder toward camera so the bomber back and elbow patches read; frame 5 tightens to a bust portrait where the flower crown supplies all the color the cream cardigan needs.
"In a composite, the garment gets the sharpest layer and the magic gets the soft ones. The day the wings out-sharp the dress, you are selling wings." — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions
How is a custom kids editorial priced?
Custom editorial sessions are billed from $800/day per photography team, with compositing quoted per frame; a five-frame capsule returns a written per-project quote after a brief call.
Can you composite fantasy elements around real garments?
Yes. We shoot the garment as a real base plate first, then blend wings, wildlife and glow at lower contrast, so the clothing stays the sharpest, most honest layer.
Can one brief mix fantasy, formal and vintage?
Yes. We hold one skin recipe and black point across the capsule, so different moods still read as one editorial family.
What is the turnaround?
Editorial capsules with compositing deliver in 7-10 business days; straight photography frames ship inside the standard 5-7.
Who owns the images?
Your brand does, under a full commercial license covering catalog, marketplace, social and advertising use.
