Photography Challenges

1. Eight outfit changes in one outdoor day. We had to move through eight looks without losing the soft overcast light. The shoot was sequenced by location and complexity, with styling changes handled at a nearby staging point so the model’s hair, makeup, and accessories stayed consistent between frames.

2. Even exposure across changing natural light. Overcast daylight can shift quickly between meadow and lakeside setups. We used the open sky as the main soft source, adjusted the model’s angle to the light, and matched exposure and white balance in post so all eight images read as one series.

3. Composite layouts with pastoral backgrounds. Three images required picture-in-picture layouts over sheep pasture or grass-border plates. Each foreground frame was matched to the background plate for light direction, scale, and edge tone so the outfit and pastoral setting felt intentional rather than pasted together.

4. Keeping an earthy palette separated. Cream, olive, brown, sand, and blush tones could blend into the grass and pasture backgrounds. We placed looks against areas with enough tonal contrast and used subtle tonal separation in retouching to preserve garment shape and accessory detail.

Our Approach

Location and styling direction.

We used lakeside meadow, grassy field, and sheep-pasture environments to support an outdoor seasonal story. The styling kept an earthy cream, olive, and brown base, with mustard, blush, leopard print, and structured bags used as visible accents.

Natural-light posing and framing.

Soft overcast daylight gave even skin and fabric rendering without hard shadows. We mixed full-length poses, a profile, and a close-up portrait, varying the camera distance to show outfit proportions, fabric texture, and styling details across the lookbook.

Retouching and Delivery.

Retouching included exposure matching, white-balance consistency, earthy palette grading, fabric and skin cleanup, and the three picture-in-picture composites. Files were prepared for Amazon image slots and A+ Content, then delivered as 2000x2000px sRGB JPEG quality 90 files plus WebP versions with a full commercial license.

"We don’t wait for ideal weather; we build the shot around the light we can control and finish the consistency in post." Garbo, Senior Photographer

Frequently Asked Questions

How much did this shoot cost?

On-model fashion lifestyle images are $45 per image. For 8 images, the total was 8 × $45 = $360. The 10+ SKU discount of 10% did not apply because this order had fewer than 10 SKUs; orders of 30+ SKUs receive 15% off.

What is the turnaround time?

Standard turnaround is 5–7 business days. This outdoor lookbook was delivered in 5 business days.

Are the images compliant for Amazon?

Yes. The final files are 2000x2000px sRGB, which supports Amazon’s zoom function, and we prepare crops and layouts for Amazon image slots while keeping styling within category guidelines.

How did you create the pastoral composite images?

For three frames, we used picture-in-picture layouts. The model and outfit were placed over a sheep-pasture or grass-border plate, then matched for overcast light direction, scale, and edge tone.

Can we ship products and direct the shoot remotely?

Yes. Clients can ship garments and accessories to our Guangzhou, China studio, and we coordinate remote art direction through a shot list, reference images, and feedback during the shoot day.

How do you maintain consistency for reorders?

We keep the shot list, styling notes, color-grading reference, and approved exports, so follow-up SKUs can be matched to the same lighting, earthy palette, crop style, and compositing approach.
