The client sells Philips in-car power products and needed a compact creative deliverable rather than a full catalog: one hero frame of the dual USB charger installed at the console, and one feature frame of the three-socket hub with its independent switches. Both frames were photographed at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China, in a single low-key lighting setup.

Photography Challenges

1. A two-frame deliverable leaves no room for filler. With a pair of hero images, each frame has to carry the full argument: brand, port layout and install context in a single read. Composition is planned on paper before the light is built, and every element in frame earns its place.

2. Low-key lighting can bury black plastic. The matte black charger body sits against a black leatherette console. One scrimmed key from the windshield side plus a silver bounce card lifts the front face and the white Philips print, while the rest of the cabin stays in controlled shadow.

3. Chrome rings flare at close focus. The polished socket trim on the hub picks up hard specular streaks from any bare source. The key is flagged so the rings stay bright but shaped, with the highlight following the ring rather than crossing it.

Our Approach

Hero install frame.

Frame 01 seats the charger in the console socket at shifter height, shallow depth of field holding focus on the USB ports while the surrounding trim falls soft, so the image works cropped tight or full-bleed.

Feature frame for the hub.

Frame 02 places the three-socket hub beside the gear selector, angled so the independent switches, indicator pinholes and chrome rings read in one glance.

"When the brief is two frames, every reflection is a decision. The time goes into the light, not into the shot count." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a compact creative set like this priced?

Low-key styled frames sit in our Growth package from $35 per image, white-background versions start from $12 per image under Essential, and full A+ Content sets start from $80 per SKU under Premium. All rates are starting prices, and the final quote depends on your requirements.

Why only two frames for this project?

The brief asked for hero images for brand page headers and premium listing slots, where one strong frame outperforms ten average ones. A compact pair keeps the budget on lighting craft rather than volume.

Can you shoot other charger models in the same style?

Yes. The low-key console setup is repeatable, so additional SKUs can be added to the series with identical mood, ratio and framing at any later date.

Do you offer white-background versions as well?

Yes. Pure white-background shots for Amazon main image slots start from $12 per image under our Essential package. All final files are delivered at 2000x2000px sRGB, which exceeds Amazon's 1000px minimum requirement for the zoom feature, and include a full commercial license.
