The client is a luggage brand selling hardside spinner suitcases to travelers in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. The campaign covered one suitcase line in five colorways, glossy red, matte black, mint, blush pink, and baby blue, and the brief asked for one consistent model story across all of them: street corners, benches, and sidewalks for the travel feeling, plus bright studio sets for the clean e-commerce frames. We shot with a single model over two days and delivered the images with a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges
1. A glossy shell is a mirror you wheel around. The red and mint shells are high-gloss, and outdoors they reflect every storefront, passerby, and light source in the street. Instead of fighting reflections in retouching, we positioned each shot so the shell faces open space or a plain wall, and shot with the sun behind the camera where the reflection reads as a clean gradient. What retouching remained was hours, not days.
2. Five colorways must look like one family. A buyer comparing the red and the pink on a listing page should feel they are looking at the same suitcase, not five unrelated products. We kept one model, one height relative to the case, and the same handle-extended pose logic across colorways, then matched color and contrast in the grade so the shells change color but nothing else does.
3. Size is the question every luggage buyer has. A suitcase in a vacuum tells you nothing about whether it fits your week-long trip. The model answers it: standing beside the extended handle shows the case against a real torso, and seated frames show it between knees. We directed poses around the case deliberately, because for this product the model is a scale reference first and a lifestyle cue second.
4. Hard midday sun versus soft studio light. Two frames were shot in direct street sun, four in soft diffused light, and mixing both in one campaign can look like two different brands. We embraced the contrast: sun frames carry the travel energy with hard shadows, studio frames carry the product detail. The grade pulls both toward the same warm skin tone and the same shell color, so the set sits together on a listing page.
Our Approach
Casting and styling one continuous story.
One model, one afternoon of wardrobe in coordinated whites and pastels, and a route of three urban spots within walking distance. Keeping wardrobe in the same tonal family as the shells, whites, blush, pale blue, means the model supports the colorway instead of competing with it.
Camera work for product truth.
Full-length and medium frames were shot between 50mm and 85mm, which keeps the suitcase’s proportions honest: a wide lens would bulge the shell and stretch the telescopic handle, making the product look different from the box the buyer opens. Shallow depth on the street frames blurs the city into context while the case stays sharp.
Retouching and delivery.
Retouching removed scuffs and fingerprints from the shells, cleaned pavement distractions, and matched each shell color back to the physical case under D65 light. Files were delivered at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG quality 90 plus WebP, ready for Amazon image slots, A+ Content, and social campaigns.
"The model is not decoration on a luggage shoot. She is the ruler, the traveler, and the color anchor for five shells at once." — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does luggage model photography cost?
On-model luggage images start at $35 per image under our Growth package, with the model fee quoted separately based on casting. A 6-image, 2-day campaign like this one starts around $210 plus model and location costs. All rates are starting prices, final quote depends on your shot list and sets.
How long does a multi-colorway campaign take?
This 6-image campaign across 5 colorways was shot in 2 days and delivered in 7 business days including retouching. Our standard turnaround is 5-7 business days, with rush scheduling available for launch windows.
Can you keep every colorway looking consistent?
Yes. We fix the model, camera height, pose logic, and grade across colorways, then match each shell back to the physical case under D65 light. Buyers see one suitcase family in five colors, not five unrelated products.
Do we ship all colorways to your studio?
Yes. Brands typically courier one unit per colorway to our Guangzhou studio. We inspect, clean, and photograph each shell, then match final files to the physical product before returning or storing samples as you prefer.
Can you also shoot the suitcase interior and details?
Yes. Interior compartments, zipper runs, wheel close-ups, and lock details are shot as product add-ons from $12 per image on white, or included as styled detail frames within a Growth-package session.
Are these images ready for Amazon and social ads?
The 2000x2000px sRGB masters fit Amazon image slots and A+ Content directly, and the lifestyle framing was composed with feed crops in mind, so the same files work for Instagram and paid social without reshooting.
