The product claim is in the name: light, thin, traceless. Heavy packshot language would argue with it, so the hero frame floats two jars at different tilts among geometric cream blocks, while the supporting frames come back to earth with the discipline buyers need: materials, lid detail, and the puff inside.

Photography Challenges

1. Floating two jars believably. Both jars hang at different angles with no visible support. Perspective, shadow and the powder settled inside each jar must all agree, or the illusion reads as sticker collage.

2. Photographing powder through packaging. The nude powder is visible through clear faceted walls. Light it like glass and the powder looks grey; light it like powder and the facets disappear.

3. Keeping the chevron lid pattern crisp. The lid's zigzag texture and gradient finish are the premium cue. It sits millimeters from the jar body with completely different reflection needs.

Our Approach

Two-stage float composite

Each jar was shot on a clear support at its assigned angle, powder tapped level first, then composited into the block set with matched soft shadows beneath. The blocks were photographed empty under the same key, so light direction never argues.

Powder-first exposure

We exposed for the nude powder through the jar wall and let the facets draw themselves with edge refraction. The powder keeps its warm tone, which is the shade information buyers are actually shopping.

Lid as a separate portrait

The open frame lays the lid on its side against the jar, lit by its own small strip so the chevron pattern and gradient read independently of the jar's clear walls. The velour puff sits on the sifter exactly as it ships.

"Floating product shots fail in the details nobody names: settled powder, agreeing shadows, matching light. Get those three right and nobody asks how it was done." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you make products look like they are floating?

Each object is photographed on a clear support at its final angle, then composited into a set photographed under the same key light. Physics supplies the realism; post only removes the support.

Can you show powder color accurately through the jar?

Yes. We meter for the powder itself, not the packaging, and keep facets honest through refraction. The shade a buyer sees is the shade in the jar.

Do you photograph included accessories like puffs?

Yes. The puff is part of the product experience, so the open frame shows it seated on the sifter with the branded strap, exactly as the customer receives it.

A lightweight claim that needs weightless images?

Send the product. We will float the hero, ground the details, and keep the shade as honest as the formula.
