One SKU, seven listing slots: the moisturizer tube alone, with its carton, its back panel, the GMP seal on the box side, the open tube with its violet cap, a magazine-styled lifestyle frame and a final sealed packshot, all in one magenta-true setup.

A single-SKU listing lives on slot coverage. Marketplaces reward a gallery that answers every question a shopper has, so this session was planned as a slot list before it was planned as a shoot: what the pack looks like, what the box says, what certification it carries, what the product looks like opened, and how it sits in a real morning routine.

Photography Challenges

1. Magenta that survives compression. The brand lives on one magenta accent across tube and carton. That hue shifts easily under mixed lighting, and marketplace compression punishes weak color. It had to land identical in every frame.

2. A metallic violet cap that misbehaves. The cap is mirror-gloss metallic violet. It reflects the entire studio, including the camera, and its curved twin-lobe shape doubles every stray highlight.

3. Back-panel legibility. The reverse of the tube carries the full usage and warning text in small print. That slot exists to be read, so the shot needed flat, glare-free light with zero distortion.

Our Approach

Slot-first shot list

Each frame was tied to a marketplace slot before lighting started: hero, tube-plus-box, back panel, certification detail, open state, lifestyle, sealed packshot. Nothing was shot twice and no slot was missed.

Cap reflection mapping

The violet cap was photographed inside a card-built reflection environment: large white cards for the soft sheen, thin black strips to draw its edge. The mirror finish shows shape, not the studio.

Flat discipline for text frames

Back panel and GMP seal frames used crossed diffusion to kill specular glare on the printed film, with the tube squared to the sensor so the small print stays geometrically true.

"A good single-SKU gallery is a FAQ in pictures. Plan the slots before the lighting and the listing answers questions the shopper has not asked yet." June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How many images does a single skincare SKU need?

For marketplaces, plan on six to eight: hero, pack-plus-box, back panel, a certification or ingredient detail, an open or texture state, a lifestyle frame and a size reference. This session covers that sequence in one setup.

Can you photograph the back panel so the text stays readable?

Yes. We square the pack to the sensor, light it flat with crossed diffusion, and check legibility at actual listing size. Regulatory and usage text is part of the product; we treat it that way.

Do you shoot the retail carton as well as the product?

Yes. Carton frames carry the certification seals and the full brand presentation, and they are what gift buyers and wholesale customers ask to see.

One SKU that needs a complete gallery, not just a hero?

Send the product and the platform. We will plan the slot sequence first and shoot every frame the listing needs to convert on its own.
