Four loudspeakers across home, install and pro-audio duty: a bookshelf unit with drivers exposed, a white wall-mount box, and two Phonic PA wedges, each framed to show the hardware its buyer actually inspects before requesting a quote on the page.

Loudspeaker buyers shop with their eyes on the engineering: driver cones, grille perforation, rigging points, cabinet coating. The four frames share one three-quarter angle family so cones, grilles and cabinet sides are all visible, while fill was tuned per cabinet finish from matte black MDF to sprayed polyurea.
| Project Overview | |
|---|---|
| Product type | Bookshelf, wall-mount and PA loudspeakers, four models |
| Deliverables | One catalog frame per model |
| Shoot location | AIMI studio, Guangzhou |
| Styling | Seamless white, consistent three-quarter family |
| Usage | Distributor catalog and pro-audio listings |
Photography Challenges
1. Hex grilles moiré on digital sensors. The perforated steel grilles on the PA units sit close to sensor pitch and produce moiré at the wrong aperture. Each grille was checked at full magnification on set and the capture settings adjusted until the pattern rendered clean.
2. Black products on white need separation. Three of the four cabinets are near-black. A defined edge light and careful fill keep the cabinet silhouette and its coating texture readable against the white sweep instead of collapsing into a dark shape.
3. Rigging hardware is part of the product. Pro buyers look for sockets, inserts and handles. The three-quarter angle was chosen per unit so mounting hardware faces camera, making the frame useful to installers as well as marketers.
Our Approach
A three-quarter family
All four frames share a related camera position, so the catalog compares cabinets honestly. Elevation shifted slightly per unit to keep grilles and drivers square to the lens.
Moiré killed at capture
Aperture and distance were tuned per grille pattern on set. Clean capture preserves the crisp perforation that post-processing blur would destroy.
Edge light for black cabinets
A flagged strip behind each unit draws a controlled edge along the cabinet, separating dark product from light background while keeping the front finishes matte and honest.
"Pro audio buyers do not browse, they inspect. Give the frame the angle an installer would choose, keep the grille honest, and the photography starts answering technical questions on its own." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you photograph black products on white?
With a controlled edge light behind the product and measured fill in front. The cabinet keeps its matte texture, the silhouette separates cleanly from the sweep, and no detail is crushed.
Can you avoid moiré on metal grilles?
Yes, at capture. We check grille patterns at full magnification on set and tune aperture, distance and angle until the interference disappears. It preserves far more detail than any post fix.
Do you show mounting and rigging hardware?
Deliberately. For install and pro products the sockets, inserts and brackets are purchase factors, so framing puts them in view rather than hiding them on the far side.
Technical products bought by inspectors?
Send the spec sheets with the units. We will frame the hardware buyers actually check and keep every grille and coating honest.
