The product is wonton noodle soup, the anchor dish of a noodle shop menu. Clear broth is the signature, so the bowl is assembled with the wontons and noodles visible above the broth line, and the broth itself stays transparent enough to read the spoon. Shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges

1. Noodles sink and wontons float. Left alone, the noodles vanish under the broth. The bowl is built on a hidden platform so the noodles and wontons sit proud of the broth line.

2. Clear broth clouds within minutes. Hot broth on fresh noodles releases starch and clouds fast. The broth is added at a tested temperature and the frame is shot inside the clear window.

3. Greens wilt on contact. The greens go in last, seconds before capture, so they stay upright and bright instead of slumping into the broth.

Our Approach

Build the bowl on a platform.

A hidden riser holds the noodles and wontons above the broth line, so every element reads in the frame.

Broth and greens last.

The clear broth is ladled at a tested temperature, greens land on top, and the frame is shot immediately.

Post-production and delivery.

Retouching held the broth clarity, cleaned the bowl rim, and delivered 2000x2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.
