The product is a fresh food line: eel fillets, hot pot balls and pastry shrimp sold chilled on e-commerce. Fresh reads on ice and texture, so the eel gets the ice treatment and the pastry shrimp gets the crumb close-up, with gingham for the warm reads and white for the clean reads. All 11 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges
1. Eel slime reads as dirt. Fresh eel carries a surface film that reads as grime on camera. The fillets are wiped and placed on ice, then shot with a cool key so the flesh reads clean and firm.
2. Pastry crumb goes soggy. The pastry shrimp loses its crunch look as it sits. The shrimp is fried to order and shot within minutes while the crumb still reads crisp.
3. Two sets must stay one line. The white and gingham sets could split the library. The plate style and the grade family stay constant so both reads land in the same menu.
Our Approach
Eel block.
Frames 01-02 and 07 work the eel: fillets on ice, the cross-section proof and the lemon-herb pairing.
Hot pot and pastry block.
Frames 03-06 and 09 cover the hot pot balls with dipping sauce and the pastry shrimp with its crumb close-up.
Range closers.
Frames 08, 10-11 finish with the hot pot group, the overhead flat lay and the wide set view.
Post-production and delivery.
Retouching held the crumb texture, cleaned the eel surface, and delivered 2000x2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.
"Fresh seafood is a temperature argument: ice for the eel, heat for the pastry, and one grade to hold the line." — June, Product Photography Team Lead
