The product is a chocolate gift box with an assortment inside, sold with pastry pairings. The catalog needs the box read, the assortment read and the ganache proof, so the set is a dessert table with the box, the platter and the cups. All 6 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges

1. Chocolate blooms under warm light. Chocolate dulls and blooms if it sits under warm light. The pieces are chilled before the shoot and rotated through the set so the surface stays glossy.

2. The ganache surface is the proof. The ganache cups sell on their glossy surface. A single soft source bands the surface so it reads as a mirror, not a matte pool.

3. The assortment must read at a glance. The open box is arranged so every chocolate type reads, with the box lid propped at a fixed angle.

Our Approach

Box reads first.

Frames 01-02 establish the closed box with ribbon and the open assortment read.

Pairing block.

Frames 03-04 add the floss pastry pairing and the snack platter.

Ganache and group closers.

Frames 05-06 finish with the glossy ganache cups and the range group.

Post-production and delivery.

Retouching held the chocolate gloss, cleaned fingerprints, and delivered 2000x2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.

"Chocolate photography is a temperature budget: chill the pieces, band the ganache, and never let the surface bloom." — June, Product Photography Team Lead
