The product is Chongdasheng cat food in a 500g retail pack. Pet food has to look tasty to humans while staying truthful about the product: the kibble texture, the pour and the bag all matter. All 4 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges

1. Kibble texture can look dry and dusty. Kibble is sprayed lightly and backlit so edges read crisp; too much oil turns dark, too little turns powdery. The test frames set the exact finish before the hero shots.

2. The bag must stay sharper than the food. Flying kibble is exciting, but the pack is still the product. Motion frames keep the bag on a separate focus plane from the flying pieces.

3. Bright pet colors need adult control. Yellow and cyan blocks match the packaging without turning the page into a toy ad.

Our Approach

Pack hero.

Frame 01 gives the 500g bag a clean front read on the yellow set with a small kibble pile for product proof.

Texture and pour.

Frames 02-03 move to kibble close-up and pour action with fast flash, keeping individual pieces crisp.

Occasion frame and delivery.

Frame 04 adds the cyan bowl world for serving context, then retouching matched kibble color and pack whites.

"Pet food is bought by people. Make the kibble look fresh and keep the bag impossible to miss." — June, Product Photography Team Lead
