Six black-backdrop frames for a Cantonese menu set: hero dishes with controlled steam, glossy sauces and tight crop-ready compositions for restaurant menu pages, delivery platforms and local listing use. The set is planned for listing, campaign, delivery-platform and social crops without losing the label. More work from this category lives in our food photography services page.

The product is a Cantonese menu set shot for restaurant listing and menu use. The work is not about one dish; it is about making six different plates read as one kitchen with consistent appetite, sauce shine and portion clarity. All 6 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges
1. Menu dishes die under mixed color temperature. Sauce, greens and steam all shift under inconsistent light. Every dish is shot at one locked temperature so the set can sit on one menu page without color jumps.
2. Steam has a ten-second window. Steam reads fresh only right after plating. The set is lit and framed before the dish lands, then the plate is swapped in for a short capture window.
3. Black backgrounds show rim mistakes. Dark menu photography needs edge separation on every plate. A soft rim lifts the dish edge while the table stays black.
Our Approach
Locked menu recipe.
Frames 01-06 share one black set recipe: same table, same rim light, same crop logic, with only the dish changing.
Dish-specific timing.
Sauced dishes are shot first for gloss, steamed items second for vapor, and fried items last so texture stays crisp.
Post-production and delivery.
Retouching cleaned plate rims, matched sauce color across dishes, and delivered 2000x2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.
"Menu photography is a consistency game. The diner should taste the same kitchen across six dishes before reading a word." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this kind of food photography priced?
Styled creative frames start at $35 per image under our Growth package, so a 6-dish menu set runs from $210 including food styling coordination and retouching. Pure white-background marketplace shots start from $12 per image under Essential, and A+ Content packages start from $80 per SKU under Premium. All rates are starting prices, and the final quote depends on your requirements.
How long does a session like this take?
This project was delivered inside our standard 5-7 business day window: dish sequencing and steam timing tests first, then the shoot, then retouching and color matching across the final set.
Can you also shoot the plain white-background version?
Yes. Pure white-background shots for Amazon main image slots start from $12 per image under our Essential package. Final files are delivered at 2000x2000px sRGB, above the 1000px zoom minimum, with a full commercial license.
Can you match our restaurant menu style?
Yes. Table surface, plate color, crop ratio and sauce grade are fixed to your menu template before the shoot so new dishes drop into the same system.
