The client sells kinetic wind spinners for decks and gardens: mirror-polished stainless steel discs with nested diamond slats that rotate in the wind, offered in five die-cut motifs from hummingbird to stag. The brief called for close-up product frames of each motif plus in-context placement views for the listing pages. The five motif frames were photographed at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China, and the four placement plates were composited from those product shots onto deck, window and porch background plates.

Photography Challenges

1. Mirror metal photographs its surroundings. A polished spinner reflects everything near the camera, including the crew. The motif close-ups are shot with the disc angled to catch only sky and greenery, so the reflections read as outdoor context instead of studio clutter.

2. A kinetic product must look able to move. The nested slats are the whole value proposition. Each disc is rotated so the layered diamonds sit slightly offset, and the porch plate shows the spinner mid-twist, so buyers read the motion the product is built for.

3. Die-cut motifs must stay legible at listing size. Hummingbird, elephant and stag cutouts disappear against a busy background. Every close-up uses a defocused natural plate well behind the disc, so the openwork silhouette reads at thumbnail size.

Our Approach

Motif walk as tight close-ups.

Frames 03-07 isolate each die-cut design against a defocused outdoor plate: hummingbird and blossom, long-tailed cat, elephant, a second hummingbird and the stag, so every SKU gets its own hero.

Placement plates for context.

Frames 01, 02, 08 and 09 composite the photographed spinner into deck, window and porch scenes, giving the listing use-context views without a location shoot for every setting.

Reflection discipline across the set.

The same angle and light logic holds across all five close-ups, so the line compares motif to motif with no exposure or color jumps between variants.

"A mirror product is photographed by what you keep out of the reflection. Control the surroundings and the metal sells itself." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a mixed photo and placement-plate set priced?

Product close-ups like these sit in our Growth package from $35 per image, white-background versions start from $12 per image under Essential, and full A+ Content sets start from $80 per SKU under Premium. Placement compositing is quoted per scene. All rates are starting prices, and the final quote depends on your requirements.

Can you keep mirror-polished metal free of studio reflections?

Yes. Reflective products are angled so the surface catches only the chosen surroundings, and remaining distractions are cleaned in retouch, so the metal reads as sky and garden rather than equipment.

Can placement plates use scenes from our target market?

Yes. Placement plates are built from the photographed product and scene backgrounds chosen with you, so a deck, porch or garden setting can match the market your listing sells into.

Can we add white-background versions for marketplace slots?

Yes. Pure white-background shots for Amazon main image slots start from $12 per image under our Essential package. All final files are delivered at 2000x2000px sRGB, which exceeds Amazon's 1000px minimum requirement for the zoom feature, and include a full commercial license.
