The client's pods sell a rainbow of chambers: pink, purple, teal, and clear gel in one water-soluble film, and the package claims a 4-in-1 job: cleaning, care, fragrance, and softening. AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China shot 4 images in our Guangzhou studio: the fluted bowl piled with glossy pods and a hand holding one up for scale, the two stacked containers beside the drying rack with its folded towel, and two pure-white singles where the four-chamber pinwheel reads like jewelry, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. Gel is the hardest surface in the laundry aisle. Translucent water-soluble film with liquid inside: every light source punches straight through and lands on the background. We shoot the bowl under a large soft source so each chamber gets one clean highlight, and the gel reads glossy, not muddy.

2. The rainbow is the brand. Pink, purple, blue, teal in one pod: the color story is the differentiator at thumbnail. We keep the white balance neutral so the chambers stay saturated without going radioactive.

3. The hand frame answers three questions. How big is a pod? How do I pick one up? Is it slimy? One hand, one pod, one frame answers all three, which is exactly what a first-time capsule buyer asks.

4. Containers need the use case. A 36-count tub is just a tub until it sits beside a drying rack with a folded towel. The laundry register props tell the story the label cannot: this is what the pods do.

Our Approach

The Bowl Scene

The fluted glass bowl piled with pods, hand entering with one held up: the hero frame that sells size and the tactile feel.

The Stacked Set

Two containers, one open, beside the towel rack: the pantry frame for the full-count purchase.

The Packshots

Single pods on pure white, pinwheel chambers facing camera: the main-image-ready frames for the marketplace.

Retouching

All 4 frames keep the gel honest: chamber colors true, highlights single and clean, film wrinkles natural, and whites at 245-252. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.

"Gel photography is highlight discipline: one clean catch per chamber, a neutral white balance for the rainbow, and a hand for scale." June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a 4-image set like this cost?

This set came to about $94: $35 each for the two styled scenes and $12 each for the two white packshots. 10 or more images get 10% off the whole order.

How long does the shoot take?

These 4 images were delivered in 4 business days. The bowl scene, the stacked set, and the packshots share one session.

Can packshots go on Amazon as main images?

Yes, the two white singles meet main-image rules. The scenes go in the secondary slots and A+ Content, delivered at 2000x2000px.

Why is gel so hard to photograph?

Because translucent water-soluble film lets every light source punch straight through to the background. One large soft source gives each chamber a single clean highlight, and the gel reads glossy instead of muddy.

Why include the hand frame?

Three questions every first-time buyer asks: how big is a pod, how do I pick it up, is it slimy. One hand frame answers all three.

Can you photograph other fragrances later?

Yes. The bowl set and lighting recipe stay on file, so new scents and chamber colors match this campaign, at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
