The client sells travel gear for kids and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot the line for its online listings. The range covers a booster seat that folds into a carry bag and ride-on suitcases shaped like little animal cars in red, green, and blue. We shot 4 images in our Guangzhou studio on clean gray sweeps: the booster shown in all 3 of its states in one frame, and each ride-on design on its own, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. A folding product has to prove it folds. The booster's whole pitch is 'bag to seat in seconds'. A single photo of the open seat says nothing. So one frame shows all 3 states together, folded flat, standing as a carry case, and opened into a seat, arranged left to right like a time-lapse.

2. Glossy plastic shows the studio. The ride-on cases are shiny molded shells. We lit with one big soft source and kept the rest of the set dark, so each shell carries one smooth highlight instead of a map of our ceiling.

3. Character faces carry the product. The animal cases sell on their faces: eyes, ears, a smile. Each frame is angled so the face reads clearly at thumbnail size, with the pull handle visible behind it, because parents buy the function and kids pick the face.

4. Three colors, one family. Red, green, and blue cases must sit in the gallery as siblings. Camera height, angle, and light stay locked while the designs rotate, so the shopper compares characters, not photography.

Our Approach

Three-State Frame

The booster frame stages the transformation in one shot: the folded pouch at the front, the standing carry case behind it, and the open seat at the right, all on the gray sweep. Parents get the whole idea without reading a word, which is exactly what a main gallery image needs to do.

Character Case Frames

Each ride-on case gets its own frame on the same gray sweep: side profile for the red car, three-quarter front for the green and blue animal faces. The glossy floor reflection grounds each case, and the pull handles stay up so the travel function reads in every image.

Retouching

All 4 frames get one clean finish: background to an even studio gray, shell colors matched to the physical products, and scuffs from handling cleaned at 200% zoom. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.

"Kids' gear is bought twice: the parent reads the function, the kid picks the face. A good frame has to answer both at the same time." June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a 4-image set like this cost?

This set came to about $140 at $35 per studio image. Plain white-background shots for main listing slots start at $12 each, and 10 or more items get 10% off.

How long does the shoot take?

These 4 images were delivered in 5 business days. The gray set stays built all session, so the time goes into staging the folding states and polishing shells.

Can studio frames go on Amazon?

Yes. They work in the secondary slots and A+ Content at 2000x2000px. For the main image we shoot the same product on pure white at $12, matching Amazon's product-on-white rule.

How do you show a folding product in one photo?

We stage all its states in one frame, like a time-lapse: folded, standing, open. The shopper understands the transformation instantly, without copy.

Can you shoot kids using the products?

Yes. Model frames with children riding the cases or sitting on the booster can be added at the $45 model rate, with casting and styling handled in-house.

Can you add more characters or colors later?

Yes. The setup is locked and documented, so new designs match this gallery exactly: same gray, same angle, same light. New designs run at the standard $12 or $35 per-image rates.
