Photography Challenges
1. Carved faces need directional light to read. The Buddha-head carvings flatten under frontal light. A 45-degree side key at low intensity pulls shadow into the carved lines, so the face reads without any post work on the carving itself.
2. Long strands tangle into visual noise. A 108-bead mala poured on a surface looks accidental. Each long strand is laid in a controlled spiral with the carved bead placed at the visual anchor point, checked from the camera position rather than by eye on the table.
3. Mixed woods need one color grade. Light sandalwood tones and deep red hardwoods shift apart under auto white balance. All frames are shot to one fixed Kelvin and graded to a single master so the catalog feels like one family.
Our Approach
Lifestyle context frames.
Frames 01-09 place the bracelets in quiet daily scenes with restrained props, keeping the beads as the sharpest and warmest object in frame.
Still life and macro coverage.
Frames 10-20 move to the dark still life setup for carved bead macros, loop profiles and texture proofs at f/8 on the 100mm macro.
On-wrist scale shots.
Frames 21-26 add wrist-worn frames showing how single and double wraps sit, giving buyers fit context without a full model session.
"Prayer beads carry meaning for the buyer. The photography should stay quiet and let the carving and grain hold that weight." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
How is a 26-frame bead jewelry library priced?
Styled creative frames start at $35 per image under our Growth package, so a 26-frame library runs from $910 including styling and retouching. All rates are starting prices, and the final quote depends on your requirements.
How long does a session of this size take?
This library was delivered inside our standard 5-7 business day window: strand prep and layout templates first, then scene, still life and wrist coverage, then retouching.
Can you shoot the carved details without harsh shadows?
Yes. Carved accents are lit with a controlled side key and soft fill so the carving depth reads without crushed blacks, and files ship at 2000x2000px sRGB.
Can you cover our full mala line in one session?
Yes. Multi-design lines are planned as one recipe with rotated layouts, so each design gets hero, macro and wear frames inside a single booking.
