The brief covers the Oriental Yuhong installation catalog in one session: green and white PPR pipe systems, chrome and red-handwheel shutoff valves, fusion fittings, multilayer antibacterial pipe, a virgin resin feedstock shot, and the PVC-U electrical conduit line in its white-red-blue wiring code. Seven different product groups, one requirement: every printed rating and every cut-end layer must be legible, because distributors check both before they stock. All 7 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China, and delivered under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. Seven product groups must read as one catalog. Green fittings, white pipes, blue antibacterial sets, red valves and tri-color conduit each want their own treatment. One black gloss set, one key recipe and one spacing rule run through all 7 frames, so the distributor flipping the range sees a system from one brand, not seven unrelated lots.

2. White pipes on a black set are an exposure trap. White dual-layer pipes against black gloss span nearly the full histogram. Exposure is set for the pipe walls and the green inner core is recovered locally in retouching — metering for the scene average would blow the white walls into textureless tubes.

3. Chrome and plastic need two recipes in one frame. Frames 5 and 6 mount polished chrome valves on PPR tees. Chrome wants a hard defined strip reflection, plastic wants a soft wash. The valve gets its own small strip box flagged off the plastic, and the two recipes meet only on the product, never on the set.

4. Resin pellets and spec print sit at opposite scale ends. The virgin pellet mound is thousands of 3mm cylinders; the pipe print is millimeter-high text. Pellets are lit with a low grazing key so each cylinder self-shadows and reads as texture, while the print line is angled square to the lens and held at f/11 so the Oriental Yuhong rating text stays readable.

Our Approach

The system shots on black glass.

Frames 1, 5, 6 and 7 stage the working ranges as installation groups: the green fitting family, the full valve-and-pipe lineup in the hot-cold color code, and the blue Grade-1 antibacterial set with brass-threaded adapters. Components are spaced so every mirror reflection on the black acrylic stays clean and uncrossed.

The material and conduit stories.

Frames 2 and 3 show the pipe walls: six dual-layer sections cut at 45 degrees, and white pipes fanned beside the virgin resin feedstock they are extruded from. Frame 4 steps outside plumbing into the PVC-U electrical conduit line — nine sections in the white, red and blue wiring code, printed logos square to the lens.

Post-production and delivery.

Colors are locked to the physical parts under D65, because the green of frame 1 and the green of frame 3 must match when a distributor compares shots. Print lines are preserved exactly as resolved, chrome hotspots are pulled locally, and all 7 frames were delivered as 2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.

"A catalog of parts is shot like a system, not like singles. One set, one light and one spacing rule, and seven product groups become one brand." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a multi-SKU plumbing set cost?

Styled frames start at $35 per image under our Growth package, so this 7-frame catalog set costs approximately $245 including the black-set staging and retouching. White-background catalog versions start at $12 per image under Essential. All rates are starting prices; the final quote depends on your SKU count.

How many days does a plumbing catalog shoot need?

This 7-frame set was delivered in 6 business days, inside our standard 5-7 business day window: day 1 for the cutting jig and chrome recipe, days 2-4 across the seven product groups, days 5-6 for color-locked retouching.

Do the images meet Amazon and Alibaba listing rules?

Yes. The frames are sized for storefront banners and A+ content, white-background versions of any SKU can be added for main-image slots, and all 7 files ship at 2000px sRGB ready to upload.

Can one shoot cover pipes, valves and conduit together?

Yes. All 7 frames share one black set, one key recipe and one spacing rule, so PPR systems, chrome valves and the PVC-U conduit line read as one brand catalog. The conduit frame keeps the same language with its white, red and blue wiring code.

How do you keep colors consistent across a multi-line range?

Every frame is color-checked against the physical parts under a D65 lamp. The fitting green in frame 1 and the pipe-core green in frame 3 are the same factory color, and they match after retouching; distributors compare shots side by side.

Can you show raw material quality in a product photo?

Yes. Frame 3 pairs the white pipes with a mound of virgin PPR resin pellets, lit with a low grazing key so each 3mm cylinder reads as texture. It is the pure-feedstock argument distributors ask for, shown instead of claimed.
