PPR Plumbing Fittings Product Photography

The product is a PPR potable-water plumbing line: multilayer pipes with antibacterial inner liners, heat-fusion fittings, brass-thread transition adapters, and stop and ball valves, color-coded by water rating, alongside the manufacturer's PVC electrical conduit and junction boxes. The client wanted a catalog-grade image set covering the whole sample line on white. All 11 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China, and delivered under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. Eleven frames of lookalike parts must stay distinguishable. A green tee and a green elbow differ only by silhouette at thumbnail size. Every part gets its own marked position and orientation on the sweep, repeated frame to frame, so shape, not placement, carries the difference.

2. Chrome, brass and satin plastic on one white. Nickel threads want hard specular light while satin PPR wants a soft wrap, and one recipe has to serve both. Flagged softboxes hold one dark edge on every metal surface while the plastic keeps a clean gradient, so no frame needs a second light setup.

3. The pipe inner layers are the sales story. The green liner and the barrier ring only show at the cut face. Each pipe is miter-cut at 45 degrees and the face is polished, then the key is angled into the bore so the layers read as color bands, not shadows.

4. Color coding must photograph true. Red and blue hot-cold coding and the green premium line are buying signals. The sweeps stay a neutral 255 white and each frame is checked against the physical part, so red reads hot-water red, not orange.

Our Approach

System flat lays.

Frames 5, 8 and 10 lay a full potable-water system per color family on the sweep: pipes, fusion fittings, threaded adapters and valves spaced so every socket and thread reads. The 3/4 high camera at f/8 keeps edge-to-edge sharpness across 13 parts.

Material proof frames.

Frames 1 and 2 pair finished pipes with the raw resin pellets they are extruded from, the virgin-material proof buyers ask about. Pellets are mounded low so the mitered pipe faces stay the focal point.

Component range frames.

Frames 3, 4, 6, 7, 9 and 11 cover the fitting catalog: tees, elbows, crosses, unions, stop and ball valves, plus the electrical conduit and junction-box line, grouped by system and color code.

Post-production and delivery.

Mold lines are left honest, scuffs and dust are removed, and chrome is cleaned to a true specular without inventing reflections. All 11 frames lock to the same 255 white, delivered as 2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.
