AIMI Visual Media produced a 38-second e-commerce display video of a wireless smooth bra paired with a sheer cardigan, worn by a single model against a pure white studio background. Shot on a Canon 5D Mark IV at 25fps in 1050×576 landscape, it covers front, side, and turn movement. Delivery took 3 to 7 business days.

The client sells a wire-free smooth bra with a sheer cardigan and needed on-model video for e-commerce. The problem this format solves is direct: still images show the style, but only video conveys how fabric drapes, how the fit sits on a body, and how the piece behaves in motion. We executed to e-commerce main-image video standards: pure white background, one model, 38 seconds of front, side, and turning shots, and not one second spent on title packaging.

Creative Concept

Lingerie video fails when it plays like a catalog flip-through; a model standing still while angles change tells the buyer nothing. Our approach: small natural movements, each held 3 to 5 seconds, a hand lifting to arrange hair, a side turn, a light pull at the cardigan hem, giving viewers time to read the fit. Framing stays chest-up half-body with full-body inserts for the overall look. The red bra on pure white is its own focal point; extra props would only dilute it.

Production

High-key setup with continuous LEDs: two fixtures (5500K, CRI 95 or higher) hit the model from 45 degrees left and right at about 1.8 meters. The white background gets its own two lights, metered half a stop hotter than the subject, so the white reads clean and never gray. Camera position locked at the model’s eye height, around 50mm, f/4 for full-body sharpness, 1/50 second shutter to match 25fps capture, and ISO held under 400 to avoid noise. Post covers editing, color, and subtitle packaging on the Canon 5D Mark IV footage.

Production Challenges

1. The white sheer cardigan kept merging into the white background. We added a rim light behind and to the side of the model, tracing the gauze edges so the fabric’s transparency reads immediately on screen. Background brightness is metered separately from the subject, keeping whites clean without swallowing the light-colored product’s layers.

2. The red bra clipped to a dead flat red under strong light. We lowered exposure compensation by one third of a stop to hold color gradation in the high-saturation fabric, then lifted the red channel’s saturation back on its own in the grade. The bra keeps depth and texture instead of clipping into flat color.

3. Posed direction made the model stiff. The photographer never calls for a held pose. The model moves continuously while the camera keeps rolling, and we cut the most natural 3-second fragments out of the motion. Real movement beats frozen poses for showing how lingerie actually sits.

Where the Film Lives

The video primarily fills the main-image video slot on Tmall and Taobao detail pages, and it also fits product displays in Douyin shops and Pinduoduo stores. Lingerie buyers decide on wearing effect, and motion directly cuts returns caused by imagination gaps. For cross-border sales, this kind of plain-background display video meets the basic main-image requirements of most platforms; check your target platform’s latest policy.

Lingerie video is not about beauty; it is about letting the person on the other side of the screen imagine wearing it. Small moves, steady rhythm, accurate color: protect gradation in camera, never rescue it in post. - June — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a lingerie product video cost?

Product videos at AIMI start from $200 per finished video. Per-video pricing depends on model requirements, shot count, and packaging volume, with volume discounts for multi-video orders of the same product. Send your shot list and we will issue a formal quote.

Do you provide models, or do we find our own?

Both work. We keep long-term apparel model resources and match by height, build, and style; the model fee is billed separately. A client-specified model or the client on camera is fine too; we confirm sizing and fittings before the shoot to avoid delays.

Will white sheer fabric blur into the white background?

No, that is exactly what the lighting solves. We place a rim light behind the model so gauze edges light up and separate naturally from the background. Background brightness is controlled independently, so whites stay clean without swallowing the fabric’s transparency.

Will the bra color on video match the real product?

The whole shoot runs at 5500K standard color temperature with gray-card calibration, and high-saturation colors like red get separate exposure control to prevent clipping. The grade is checked against the physical product, and you compare before final delivery.

How long does it take, and can it be rushed?

The studio session finishes in half a day, and editing plus color takes 3 to 7 business days. A 48-hour rush delivery is possible; confirm scheduling and fees with our team. For big sale seasons, book about 2 weeks ahead to avoid peak slots.

Can several colors or styles go into one video?

Possible, but we advise one hero style per video. Multi-color lines work better as a matrix of short videos, one per listing, at lower unit cost and easier matching to product links. Volume discounts apply for multi-video orders.

What privacy and content safeguards exist for lingerie shoots?

Closed-set shooting with only essential staff present; footage goes straight to our work drives and originals are deleted after delivery per agreement. Content scale follows standard e-commerce platform rules, product-first and within bounds. Check your platform’s latest policy.

Can you match a competitor’s reference video style?

Yes. Send the reference to our planner before the shoot; we break down its lighting, camera positions, and rhythm, then propose a feasible plan for your product. References are a communication tool; the final film is customized, never a copy.

Do we need to ship samples, and who pays freight?

Yes, send 2 to 3 pieces per style for selection and steaming. Inbound freight is on you; return freight after the shoot is on us. Confirm size-to-model matching before shipping, since that is the biggest schedule variable on set.

What if we are not satisfied with the edit?

After the first cut you get two free revision rounds covering subtitles, music, pacing, and shot order. Revisions work from shot footage, so detailed pre-production communication reduces rework; we confirm the storyboard with you before cameras roll.
