AIMI Visual Media produced a 32-second product promo video for Minzhimeng, a sauce-aroma baijiu brand from the Moutai town region, built around amber-lit macro close-ups of its yellow bottle. Filmed on a Sony A7M4 with a 90mm macro at 1080p 25fps, delivered in 7 business days.

Minzhimeng, a sauce-aroma baijiu brand, asked for a product promo anchored on its bright yellow bottle, with warm gold tones carrying both the Moutai town origin association and a premium gifting position. No people on camera: the bottle, the light, and the color had to tell the whole quality story. The finished film serves the liquor e-commerce flagship store, the brand website, and offline distributor recruitment settings.

Creative Concept
Baijiu purchase decisions rest on twin trusts: perceived quality and legitimate origin. We set the strategy as warm gold luxury plus close-up narrative. Amber side-back light wraps the bottle and draws out the glass’s transparency; in shallow depth of field the “Minzhimeng” calligraphy label becomes the absolute focal point, while the gold scroll pattern against the deep blue label base builds a warm-cool contrast that fixes brand memory. Bottle, light, and color carry the entire argument, so nothing human competes with them.
Production
We shot on a studio still-life table with a dark background and warm silk cloth underlay, using a Sony A7M4 with the FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS at 1080p 25fps. Lighting was a side-back position: an Aputure 300D II through a large diffusion screen at 45 degrees behind the bottle’s shoulder, drawing a continuous highlight band along the glass edge, with a white bounce card adding faint frontal fill so the label stays readable. Color temperature was set to 3200K for the warm gold register, CRI 97 or higher for accurate liquor tones. At F2.8 the depth of field is thin, and focus was locked on the label’s calligraphy.
Production Challenges
1. Runaway highlights and messy reflections on glass. A large diffusion screen in front of the source turns the highlight into one continuous band, and a polarizer on the lens rotates to dial reflection strength up or down. We then adjusted the lamp angle so the highlight lands on the bottle shoulder and body curves, never across the label.
2. The bright yellow glass shifted orange under warm light. We set a custom white balance from a gray card as the baseline, then in DaVinci Resolve isolated the yellow channel and corrected hue and saturation on its own. That pulls the bottle back to its true yellow instead of letting the 3200K set light push it toward orange.
3. Precise label focus in shallow depth of field. Autofocus was switched off in favor of manual focus, with focus peaking and magnified view checked line by line before each take. After every take we replayed the clip immediately to confirm the calligraphy sat exactly in focus before moving to the next setup.

Where the Film Lives
The 32-second landscape master runs on liquor flagship store detail pages on major marketplaces, the brand website homepage, television screens in offline tobacco and liquor shops, and distributor recruitment video at the wine and spirits fair. The 15-second vertical cut feeds Douyin in-feed ads and WeChat Channels promotion. Frames of the bottle highlight and the label close-up were pulled as detail page main images and holiday gifting posters.
In liquor filming, light is quality: the clean band of highlight along a bottle is the viewer’s subconscious read of a pure spirit. Shoot baijiu with less, not more. One good light, one label in focus, one slow camera move outperforms a set crowded with props. — June, Product Photography Team Lead
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a baijiu product video take?
For this project, script communication and confirmation took 2 business days, the studio shoot took 1 day, and edit plus color took 4 business days, totaling 7 business days to delivery. Rush schedules can be discussed with our team, who will confirm timing and cost case by case.
How much does a baijiu promo video cost?
Product videos at AIMI start from $200 per finished video. A multi-deliverable scope like this project, with the master film plus vertical cuts and pulled still frames, is quoted by brief. Share your product, platform plan, and version count and we will send a written quote.
What should we provide for a baijiu shoot?
Provide 3 to 5 bottles in the best cosmetic condition with no scratches, a selling-point list, brand VI guidelines, and label artwork. If gift-box packaging appears on camera, supply 2 to 3 complete sets. The liquor itself should be in normal condition, clear and free of sediment.
How do you control reflections on a glass bottle?
Three controls work together: a diffusion screen in front of the source shapes highlights into continuous bands, a polarizer on the lens adjusts reflection strength, and lamp angle is planned so highlights land on the bottle’s curves instead of the label. Every shot is checked before delivery.
Are there advertising restrictions for alcohol videos?
Yes. Liquor advertising in China must follow Advertising Law rules: no encouraging immoderate drinking, no minors on screen, and no association with driving scenarios. We handle compliance at the script stage, and we recommend the client confirm the requirements of each target platform before launch.
Can you keep a yellow bottle accurate under warm light?
Yes. We set custom white balance from a gray card on set, then isolate the yellow channel in DaVinci Resolve to correct hue and saturation independently. That two-step control keeps the bottle’s true yellow from drifting orange under a 3200K warm design.
Why shoot a liquor bottle at 3200K?
A 3200K color temperature reinforces the warm gold register that reads as premium and connects visually to the Moutai town origin association. With CRI 97 or higher sources, the glass, label, and gold pattern keep accurate color inside that warm palette instead of shifting.
How is focus managed on the label?
We disable autofocus and pull focus manually, using focus peaking plus a magnified view to verify the calligraphy before each take, and we replay every clip on set to confirm focus. At F2.8 the depth of field is thin, so this double check protects the hero frames.
Where can the finished video run?
The landscape master fits liquor flagship store detail pages, the brand website homepage, offline shop screens, and trade fair recruitment booths. The 15-second vertical cut covers Douyin in-feed and WeChat Channels promotion, and pulled stills support detail page and poster design.
