A seasonal childrenswear studio session from the AIMI Visual Media team in Guangzhou, China: three cold-weather stories in one day, a reindeer Christmas knit on cream, a wool coat trio on a rustic bench, and a toggle jacket look among candy-print props. More work from this category lives in our childrenswear photography portfolio.

Holiday capsules need range fast: one day, three distinct winter stories. Frame 1 leads with the Christmas hero, a red reindeer intarsia sweater over a tartan shirt, topped by a red-and-green striped elf beanie with a shaggy pom-pom, clean on a cream backdrop. Frame 2 widens to the outerwear trio: three children on a distressed wooden bench against dusty pink plaster, an emerald wool coat, a camel trench over ditsy print, and a lavender cocoon coat sharing one soft light. Frame 3 closes with play energy: a navy toggle jacket with red lining over a striped sweater and red chinos, leaning on navy prop panels printed with lollipops and wrapped candies.

Photography Challenges

1. Intarsia knit must read at thumbnail. The reindeer graphic carries the Christmas listing. The model faces square to camera with the elf beanie tipped up by his own grip, so face, graphic and hat story read in one vertical frame even at small sizes.

2. Three coats, three values, one bench. Emerald, camel and lavender wool absorb light differently. The bench frame is lit with one broad soft source and individual reflector fills per child, so each coat holds texture without three competing shadow systems.

3. Prop sets must not upstage the product. The candy panels are scaled below shoulder height and printed in the jacket's own navy-red register, so they frame the look and echo its palette instead of stealing the eye.

4. Barefoot on set reads casual, not sloppy. Frame 3 drops shoes for a homey feel; hems are checked and feet are posed crossed at the ankle, so the choice reads as styling intent rather than missing wardrobe.

Our Approach

The holiday hero.

Frame 1 meters for the red knit and lets the cream backdrop fall bright; the model pinches the beanie tip, which lifts the elf cone into frame and opens the sweater front fully to camera.

The bench trio.

Frame 2 staggers ages and coat lengths along the rustic bench; the middle child leans on her neighbor, softening the catalog formality, while black high-tops unify the three looks at the base.

The candy frame.

Frame 3 leans the model into the prop panel with crossed ankles and one palm on the block; the jacket hangs open to show the striped sweater, and the red chinos tie to the candy print reds.

Cross-story consistency.

All three frames hold one warm winter white balance and matched skin retouch, so the capsule can sequence knit, coats and casual pages without a visible lighting jump.

"Holiday capsules are won in the calendar, not the studio. Shoot the knit, the coats and the casual story in one planned day, and the campaign ships while the season is still young." — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a multi-story holiday childrenswear day priced?

Studio childrenswear sessions are billed from $800/day per photography team, with child model agency fees and set builds itemized; a three-story capsule day returns a written per-project quote after a brief call.

Can you cover several looks with different child models in one day?

Yes. We schedule models by age and energy window, build sets in parallel, and sequence wardrobe so each story shoots inside its model's best hour.

Can seasonal props be produced in-house?

Yes. We design and print prop panels, cut felt and paper dressing, and build benches and flats to match the capsule palette.

What is the turnaround?

Standard delivery is 5-7 business days from shoot day, including retouching and grade matching across all stories.

Who owns the images?

Your brand does, under a full commercial license covering catalog, marketplace, social and advertising use.
