Winter outerwear buyers shop by warmth cues: lining, quilting, hood construction. This five-frame catalog set answers each. Frame 2 composites two colorways of a diamond-quilted sherpa-lined coat, brown and black, so one image sells the range. Frame 3 pairs two boys in charcoal: a crowned-king print knit under a mixed-media quilted jacket, and a gunmetal puffer vest over the matching print. Frame 4 gives the girls their register: an olive parka with white shearling lining beside a brown aviator bomber over burgundy cable knit. Frames 5 and 6 close with solo studies: a fur-trimmed olive parka over honeycomb knit, and a navy hooded parka layered on stripes and gingham.

Photography Challenges
1. Lining is the sale, and it hides. Sherpa and fur trim sit inside hoods and plackets. Hoods are styled open and plackets pulled slightly forward, so the lining reads in every frame without dismantling the silhouette.
2. Dark outerwear merges on dark backdrops. Charcoal and navy coats on charcoal or grey walls need edge discipline: a soft rim lifts shoulders and hoods off the backdrop, while the knit layers underneath carry the mid-tones.
3. Two-colorway composites must match exactly. The brown and black coats share one frame; the two shots are taken on a locked camera with matched exposure, then composited so quilting stitch density and scale align pixel for pixel.
4. Four models, five setups. Boys and girls rotate through solo and paired frames; pairings are shot inside shared energy windows, and solo studies fill the gaps while the other pair resets wardrobe.
Our Approach
The colorway composite.
Frame 2 locks the camera and swaps coat color between exposures; eyeglasses in the brown look and aviators in the black look differentiate the panels, and the star chest applique aligns across both.
The boys pair.
Frame 3 places the laughing boy in the king-print knit forward and his partner in the puffer vest slightly behind; the shared print ties the two outerwear pieces into one collection story.
The girls pair and solo.
Frame 4 mirrors the boys' structure with the olive parka and aviator bomber; frame 5 then isolates the fur-trim parka so its two-tone ruff and storm placket read at full size.
The closing study.
Frame 6 squares the blonde boy to camera in the navy parka, hood up and framing his hair; the striped sweater and gingham collar stack visible layers at the neck for a complete winter read.
"Outerwear is bought on the inside of the garment. Open the hood, forward the placket, and let the lining do the selling." — Garbo, Director of Photography

Frequently Asked Questions
How is a winter outerwear catalog session priced?
Studio childrenswear sessions are billed from $800/day per photography team, with child model agency fees itemized separately; multi-frame catalog sets return a written per-project quote after a brief call.
Can you show two colorways in one image?
Yes. We shoot both colorways on a locked camera with matched exposure and composite them, so stitch density and scale align exactly across the pair.
How do you keep dark coats readable on dark backdrops?
Rim separation on shoulders and hoods, with the knit layers carrying mid-tones; the coat edge never touches the backdrop value.
What is the turnaround?
Standard delivery is 5-7 business days from shoot day, including retouching, compositing and grade matching.
Who owns the images?
Your brand does, under a full commercial license covering catalog, marketplace, social and advertising use.
