Red Lipstick Acrylic Set Photography

This packaging is jewelry engineering: faceted clear acrylic over a gold mechanism, with the bullet as the centerpiece. The photography treated it that way, plinths and layered pink panels for the gallery frames, then clear discs and a real swatch for the texture proof, so the set sells both the object and the formula.

Photography Challenges

1. Clear acrylic over gold. The faceted case shows the gold mechanism through transparent walls. Light it wrong and the acrylic ghosts; light it right and the gold glows through invisible plastic, facets reading as cut edges.

2. A swatch that tells the truth. The bullet dollop is the product’s resume: gloss, pigment, slip. It has to be placed, shaped and lit to read juicy at thumbnail size without retouching the texture away.

3. Pink on pink discipline. The plinth world is blush on blush. The lipstick has to separate from its pink surroundings through light and edge, or the product dissolves into the set.

Our Approach

Facet-edge lighting

A flagged key skims the case so each facet catches a clean edge while the gold carriage inside is lit through the clear walls. The case reads as cut crystal with a golden core.

Fresh swatch protocol

Swatches were drawn from the actual bullet seconds before the frame, shaped once with a clean tool, and shot immediately. A fresh dollop holds its gloss; a worked one goes dull.

Tone-step separation

The plinth set runs three steps of pink: deepest on the backdrop arch, mid on the plinth, palest under the product. The lipstick sits on the lightest step, so the eye finds it first.
