The client is a fragrance brand launching SHARP, a men's eau de toilette in the Charisma line. The bottle is a heavy square flacon with beveled edges, a metallic spray cap and pale champagne liquid. They wanted minimalist masculine campaign frames for their website, launch marketing and e-commerce listings, with no props fighting the product. All four scenes were designed, built and shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges

1. Faceted glass reflects everything. Every bevel on this flacon is a mirror, and any unflagged light source prints itself on the glass. Reflections were sculpted with flagged softboxes and a polarizer, so each edge keeps one clean highlight line while no studio hardware appears on the bottle.

2. A metallic cap that wants to blow out. The glossy spray cap goes from burnt-out white to murky black within a third of a stop. Exposure was set for the cap's speculars and the rest of the scene was lit up to meet it, keeping the metal glossy with visible gradation.

3. Four scenes, one lighting signature. The set moves from matte black to white to mid-grey, but the campaign must read as one brand. Key direction, shadow softness and contrast grade were locked across all four builds, so only the surface tones change between frames.

4. Keeping the champagne liquid honest. Grey and white props bounce neutral-to-cool light into the bottle, and an uncorrected frame turns the warm beige liquid grey. White balance was calibrated against the physical bottle so the liquid keeps its champagne tone in every scene.

Our Approach

Sculpting reflections on a multi-strobe build.

Five strobes with soft diffusers do the work, with black and white bounce cards drawing the bottle's outlines: white cards open the glass bevels, black cards give the edges their dark definition. A polarizer kills the last of the stray glare. The 100mm macro at f/10, ISO 100, 1/125s keeps every facet sharp front to back.

Geometry that takes orders from the bottle.

Our set team built matte geometric blocks in black, grey and white, and every form is angular for a reason: the bottle is all bevels, so the set is all bevels, which quietly echoes the product name. One frame goes further and casts the silhouette shadow of a suited male torso behind the bottle, stating the masculine positioning without hiring a model.

Retouching and delivery.

Dust specks on glass are visible at this magnification, so each frame was cleaned at micro level. Reflection gradients were smoothed, colors calibrated to the physical bottle, and contrast tuned for both digital and print profiles. Final delivery: 4 high-resolution 300DPI JPG files plus web formats.

"Props should take their orders from the product: this bottle is all bevels, so every block on that set is a bevel." June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

What does creative perfume photography cost?

Custom creative scenes like these start at $35 per image under our Growth package, so a 4-frame set like this one runs about $140. White-background listing frames start at $12 under our Essential package. All rates are starting prices; the final quote depends on your requirements.

How long does a fragrance campaign shoot take?

This 4-frame set was delivered in 5 business days, inside our standard 5-7 business day window. That covers set building, shooting and retouching. All 4 scenes were produced in a single session on locked lighting.

Do you design and build the sets?

Yes. Our in-house set team designed and built these geometric props in matte black, grey and white finishes, and custom set design is included in creative scene pricing. The angular blocks were chosen to echo the beveled edges of the bottle itself.

How do you keep glass bottle reflections under control?

Reflections are sculpted, not removed: a multi-strobe build with soft diffusers, polarizing filters and black and white bounce cards draws clean highlight lines along the beveled glass edges, while no studio hardware is allowed to print itself on the bottle.

Can you match a specific brand mood, like masculine and minimal?

Yes, mood direction is agreed before the shoot through reference boards. For this men's fragrance we used monochrome geometry and, in one frame, a deliberately cast silhouette shadow of a suited male torso behind the bottle, which signals the masculine positioning without hiring a model.

Are these frames usable as Amazon main images?

Amazon's main image must show the product alone on pure white, so these creative scenes are built for secondary slots, A+ Content, brand sites and campaigns. Compliant pure-white mains can be added on the same set from $12 per image.

What usage rights come with the final images?

Every frame includes a full commercial license for all channels, with no ongoing royalty fees.
