Letv Air Conditioner Product Photography

The product is the Letv residential air conditioner line: wall-mounted split indoor units in several fascia designs, plus a four-way cassette unit that recesses into a suspended ceiling with only its grille panel exposed. The client wanted a catalog-grade white-background set covering every angle a buyer asks about, including the open-cover maintenance view. All 13 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China, and delivered under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. A white unit on a white sweep can vanish. The matte white fascia sits one stop under the 255 background, so separation comes from light, not contrast: a flagged top light draws one soft grey line along the upper edge and a faint floor shadow anchors the base, then the recipe is locked for all 13 frames.

2. Two product forms must read as one family. The wall units shoot straight-on while the cassette shoots from below at three-quarter angle. Camera height, focal length and the same flagged-softbox recipe are held across both forms so the catalog page does not look like two sessions.

3. Open-cover frames expose dark internals. Filters, the evaporator coil and louver channels sit stops under the white shell. A low fill card inside the chassis lifts the interior without touching the exterior recipe, so the blue coil fins and mesh texture read instead of going black.

4. Gloss trim and chrome end caps flare. The polished trim ring and chrome accents mirror the softboxes as white blobs. Boxes are repositioned until reflections land as clean single lines, and exposure is set for the highlights first so the plastic keeps its matte grade.

Our Approach

Front hero frames for every unit.

Frames 2, 4, 5, 10 and 13 square each unit dead-center at 70mm and f/8: louver closed for the catalog main, louver open for the airflow story. The blue brand mark stays legible at thumbnail size, which is the acceptance bar for every hero.

Three-quarter and top-detail angles.

Frames 3, 8, 9 and 11 rotate the wall units to show end-cap trim, the top intake grid and the open outlet vanes, the angles marketplace buyers scroll for. The flagged key keeps one consistent grey edge on every curve.
