The client is an electronics brand selling true wireless earbuds on Amazon and their own site. The product is a black TWS earbud set: glossy semi-in-ear earbuds and a pebble-shaped charging case with a gold-trimmed lid and a front LED display that reads out battery level. Photography Challenges
1. Glossy black on pure white. Expose for the white background and the black shell turns into a featureless silhouette; expose for the shell and the background goes grey. The product was metered first, with flagged softboxes shaping one clean highlight per curve, while the background was lit separately to hold its white.
2. Keeping the LED display legible. The case's battery readout is a small bright element inside a dark product, and at normal product exposure it blows into a white blob. The display frames were shot at controlled power so the "100" digits and the L/R indicator bars stay crisp and readable.
3. Gold trim that flares fast. The thin gold ring around the display and the lid trim are tiny reflective accents that burn out long before the rest of the product is properly lit. Flagged key light keeps them as clean lines rather than blobs of flare.
4. Shape fidelity on a rounded case. A pebble-shaped case photographed with the wrong lens looks swollen or pinched, and buyers notice when the product in their hands does not match the listing. The 100mm macro at its working distance renders the case and earbud proportions exactly as manufactured.
Our Approach
Three-point soft lighting, tuned for black gloss.
Two side softboxes with diffusers and a top fill build soft, even illumination, while flags keep the highlights as controlled lines on the glossy shell. A subtle natural contact shadow under the case grounds the product so it does not float on the white. Polarizing filters kill the last of the stray reflections on the case lid.

The 100mm macro at f/9-f/11, ISO 100, 1/125s resolves the small functional details: the LED readout, earbud mesh vents and charging wells inside the open case. Everything a customer would zoom in to check is sharp enough to survive the zoom.
Post-production and delivery.
Color correction kept the black neutral with no blue or brown cast, dust specks were removed at full magnification, and highlight and shadow levels were balanced so the product reads naturally. Both frames were delivered with precise clipping paths plus 300DPI JPG and web formats.
