Tighter near-front angle with touch buttons in view

Reverse three-quarter showing the power-button ear

Symmetrical front hero with camera and both LED eyes

Four frames for a child-focused AI companion robot: a slow orbit around the snowman-shaped unit with its dot-matrix face lit, covering camera, ear controls and touch buttons, so parents can inspect every interaction point before they commit to buying it.

A product for children is judged by parents, and parents inspect. The four-frame orbit covers the LED face, the camera, both ear controls and the front touch buttons, all with the robot powered on so its glowing blue eyes carry the friendly character the industrial design was built around.

Photography Challenges

1. The face is the product, and it glows. The dot-matrix LED face had to photograph lit, with its blue character intact, while the gloss white body stayed clean. Exposure was balanced to hold the LEDs without blowing the visor’s glossy black surround.

2. Symmetry that cannot drift. The front hero is perfectly centered, and any tilt makes the robot look cross-eyed. The camera was leveled and squared to the unit’s centerline on a marked rail for that frame.

3. Curved white body on white. A rounded gloss white shell on a white sweep merges fast. Edge reflections from flagged strips drew the silhouette, and a groomed contact shadow kept the base grounded.

Our Approach

Powered-on orbit

The robot ran through the whole session. LED frames were metered for the face first, then fill was added for the body, so character and housing coexist in one capture.

Rail-locked hero

The symmetrical front frame was shot from a leveled rail on the unit’s centerline. For a face-forward product, geometric discipline is the difference between cute and uncanny.

Feature-led orbit plan

Each angle was assigned its feature: camera, ear controls, touch buttons, face. Four frames, four answers, no filler.

"Character products have a face, and faces have rules: level it, light the eyes, and never let the framing drift. Parents forgive many things in a listing; a lazy hero frame is not one of them." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you photograph products with glowing displays or LEDs?

Yes. We meter for the illuminated elements first, then add fill for the body. The glow keeps its real color and the housing stays clean, all in a single capture.

How do you shoot a product aimed at children?

For the parents, not the kids: clear feature coverage, honest materials, and every interaction point visible. The character comes from the product’s own lit face rather than props or styling tricks.

What angles does a companion device need?

A symmetrical front hero plus a three-quarter orbit covering camera, controls and charging points. Four disciplined frames answer most parent questions; more angles only repeat the face.

A product with a face to get right?

Send the unit. We will light its eyes, level its hero and orbit every control point, so the people paying for it see exactly what they are buying.
