Medical catalog buyers are committees: clinicians, procurement, distributors. Every unit in this session was shot at the same raised three-quarter family angle, powered where a screen mattered, with logos, model numbers and control decks kept legible, so a buyer can compare eight devices across one page without the photography getting in the way.
| Project Overview | |
|---|---|
| Product type | Physiotherapy and clinical therapy devices, eight models |
| Deliverables | One catalog frame per device |
| Shoot location | AIMI studio, Guangzhou |
| Styling | Seamless white, consistent family angle |
| Usage | Product catalog, distributor kits and tender documents |
Photography Challenges
1. Eight machines, zero drama. Medical catalogs reward sameness: one angle family, one light, one background. Camera height and framing were locked, so the only thing changing between frames is the device, which is precisely the point.
2. Branding that must survive reproduction. Logos, model numbers and QR codes sit on bezels and front panels. Frames were checked at magnification on set to keep every mark legible after catalog downscaling.
3. Matte medical plastics that go chalky. The light grey ABS bodies flatten under soft light. A slightly directional key with gentle edge control kept the housings dimensional without breaking the clinical cleanliness the category demands.
Our Approach
Committee-proof framing
Each device fills the frame at the same scale and angle, so clinical and procurement readers compare hardware, not photography. Consistency is the persuasion in this category.
Legibility checks on set
Every frame was reviewed at zoom for branding, model marks and control labels before the next unit rolled in. A tender document frame that loses a model number is a failed frame.
Clean dimensional light
A directional soft key with edge control gave the matte bodies shape while keeping the set clinically bright and shadow-light.
"Medical device photography is information design with a camera. The frame that wins the tender is the one the committee can read fastest, and speed comes from discipline, not styling." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you photograph a full medical device catalog?
Yes. We lock one angle family and lighting plan, then run every model through it with on-set legibility checks for logos, model numbers and control decks. The catalog reads as one coherent document.
Do you photograph devices with screens on?
Where the screen carries information buyers need, yes, with shutter tuned to the panel. Where the screen is decorative, we keep it dark and legible rather than risk moiré.
Can trolley-sized equipment be handled in studio?
Yes. Our Guangzhou studio takes trolley and floor-standing devices with protected flooring and two-person moves, keeping the locked setup intact while units swap through.
A device catalog a committee will read?
Send the model list. We will lock the family template and return frames every stakeholder can read at a glance.
