Industrial presses sell to engineers who read a frame like a drawing. Each machine was shot from the angle that carries its working surfaces: platen, guarding, gauges, HMI, with the camera leveled and the lighting kept flat and honest, so six very different machines sit in one catalog language.
| Project Overview | |
|---|---|
| Product type | Hydraulic presses: C-frame, four-column, flatbed |
| Deliverables | One catalog frame per machine, six machines |
| Shoot location | AIMI studio, Guangzhou |
| Styling | Seamless white, level industrial framing |
| Usage | Product catalog, distributor listings and trade shows |
Photography Challenges
1. Yellow paint that saturates into orange. Safety-yellow guarding pushes toward orange under warm light. Neutral daylight-balanced sources and per-frame white balance held the yellow true across the set, which matters when the color is a safety code.
2. Gauges and HMIs are the specs. Analog gauge faces and touchscreens sit deep in the machines. Small fills were placed to keep dials and screens legible at catalog size without flattening the cabinets around them.
3. Machines taller than the sweep. The four-column press pushes the limits of a standard cyc. The frame was composed with the camera racked back and the sweep extended, keeping the machine fully isolated without a chopped silhouette.
Our Approach
Drawing-like discipline
Level camera, square framing, even light. For machinery, the photograph should behave like a dimensioned drawing: nothing dramatized, everything verifiable.
Per-machine fill placement
Gauge clusters, control pedestals and guarding interiors got targeted fills, placed per machine so the inspection points survive at thumbnail size.
Color-true safety finishes
Neutral sources and checked white balance kept safety yellows, hazard striping and stack-light colors accurate, because on industrial equipment color is information.
"Machinery buyers do not want atmosphere, they want evidence. Level frames, true colors and legible controls are the whole brief; everything else is decoration the category punishes." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you photograph large industrial machinery?
Yes. We shoot floor-standing machinery in our Guangzhou studio with protected flooring, extended sweeps for tall machines, and a level, drawing-like framing standard that engineers trust.
How do you keep safety colors accurate?
With neutral daylight-balanced lighting and checked white balance per frame. Safety yellow, hazard striping and stack-light colors carry information, and we treat them as data, not decoration.
Can control panels and gauges stay readable?
Yes. Targeted fills are placed per machine so dials, gauges and touchscreens remain legible at catalog size, and frames are checked at zoom on set before moving on.
Machinery that engineers will read like a drawing?
Send the machine list. We will bring the level, the neutral light and the discipline this category actually buys on.
