The product is Wu Yutai tangerine pu-erh: a hexagonal orange tin with an embossed gold lid showing crane and peacock relief, holding citrus peel orbs filled with ripe pu-erh. The brand has 130 years of tea history behind it, so the frames lean on heritage texture: cream and muted green sets, dried botanicals, and the cut citrus that proves the fill. All 8 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges

1. Orange tin on warm cream is a hue-family fight. The tin and the set share the warm family, so the tin disappears if the set is too close in value. The cream is held two stops lighter and slightly pinker, keeping the orange tin the dominant warm note.

2. Embossed lids need raking light, not flat light. The crane and peacock relief on the gold lid is shallow. A low raking key draws the relief into highlights and shadows; flat frontal light would erase it.

3. The cut citrus has a short fresh window. A cut tangerine oxidizes and dulls within the hour. The peel orbs are cut per setup, not per day, so the flesh reads fresh and bright in every frame it appears in.

Our Approach

Establish the heritage pair.

Frames 01-02 place the tin beside whole and cut citrus with a cup of amber pu-erh on cream, so the buyer sees the tin, the fill and the brew in one read.

Proof of craft.

Frames 03-04 and 08 go close: the open tin with its gold lid art, a two-tin stack on a black base, and a macro of the embossed lid where the relief carries the whole frame.

Atmosphere alternates.

Frames 05-07 shift the set: textured cream panel with dried botanicals, a copy-space composition for poster use, and a muted green-grey background that cools the orange tin into a premium read.

Post-production and delivery.

Retouching kept the embossed relief honest, matched the amber brew across frames, and delivered 2000x2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.

"Heritage brands photograph best in quiet sets. One strong material, one botanical, one proof of fill, and let the embossing carry the history." — June, Product Photography Team Lead

Frequently Asked Questions

How is an 8-frame heritage tea set priced?

Styled creative frames start at $35 per image under our Growth package, so this set runs from $280 including styling and retouching. All rates are starting prices, and the final quote depends on your requirements.

Can you show the fill inside the peel?

Yes. The cut citrus orb is part of the standard shot plan: we cut fresh per setup so the pu-erh fill and the peel texture read clean.

How long does the session take?

This set was delivered in our standard 5-7 business day window: set build, one shooting day, then retouching and grade matching.

Do you add white-background versions for marketplaces?

Yes. Pure white-background frames start from $12 per image under our Essential package, delivered at 2000x2000px sRGB with a full commercial license.
