The product is a shredded kelp salad, a cold appetizer in the same deli line as the sausage and peanut dishes. Dark green kelp on white is a contrast gift, but the strands mat together fast, so the mound is built strand by strand and topped with chili rings and sesame for color. Shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges
1. Kelp mats into a dark ball. Shredded kelp clumps the moment it lands. The mound is lifted and separated with two forks until the strands hold air, then topped with chili rings while the surface is still glossy.
2. Dark strands need internal light. A flat key turns the mound into a silhouette. A small skim light from the side pulls highlights off the oiled strand edges so the texture reads.
3. One frame must match the line. This page sits inside the same deli menu as the sausage and salad frames, so the plate, the white ground and the grade are identical.
Our Approach
Build the mound for the lens.
The kelp is forked into a loose mound with visible strand separation, chili rings and sesame placed on top as the color notes.
Match the line system.
Same white plate, same high-key sweep, same light map as the rest of the deli series, so the frame drops straight into the menu grid.
Post-production and delivery.
Retouching held the strand highlights, cleaned the plate rim, and delivered 2000x2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.
"Seaweed salad is a texture argument: get air into the strands, skim the oil sheen, and the green does the rest." — June, Product Photography Team Lead
