The product is sliced spicy beef shank, a cold appetizer with visible tendon marbling. The slice pattern is the quality signal, so the slices are cut to order and fanned to show the marble, then dressed with chili oil, sesame and scallion. Shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges
1. The marble is the proof. Beef shank sells on its tendon marbling. The shank is sliced across the grain to a fixed thickness and fanned so every slice shows the same lace pattern.
2. Chili oil floods fast. Too much chili oil pools and hides the marble. The dressing is spooned in a measured zigzag, then the frame is shot before the oil migrates.
3. Red oil on white ground is unforgiving. One splash outside the plate ruins the clean read. The oil is applied after the plate is in final position, with the rim wiped before capture.
Our Approach
Slice to order.
The shank is sliced on set immediately before plating, so the cut faces stay moist and the marble reads crisp.
Fan, dress, shoot.
The slices fan on the white plate, chili oil and sesame go on in one pass, and the frame is taken inside the oil-migration window.
Post-production and delivery.
Retouching held the marble texture, cleaned the plate rim, and delivered 2000x2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.
"Sliced shank is a cutting exercise: thickness fixed, grain crossed, oil measured, and the marble sells itself." — June, Product Photography Team Lead
