The product is Domuliang mooncakes from Leizhou: lotus seed paste and five-nut varieties in a red gift box. The catalog needs the box read, the skin craft proof and the filling proof, so the set is a tea ceremony table and the mooncakes are cut fresh for the filling frames. All 11 frames were shot at the AIMI Visual Media studio in Guangzhou, China.

Photography Challenges
1. Red box on a warm set needs tonal separation. The red gift box sits close to the warm set family. The set is held slightly cooler and darker so the box reads as the warm hero.
2. Five-nut filling crumbles under the knife. The nut filling falls apart if cut carelessly. The mooncake is cut with a thin hot blade in one pull so the filling reads intact.
3. The skin pattern is the craft proof. The pressed skin pattern reads under raking light only. A low raking key draws the relief into highlights and shadows.
Our Approach
Box and tea block.
Frames 01-03 and 07-08 work the tea ceremony set: the closed box, the open box, the lotus pairing, the plate and the gaiwan pairing.
Craft and filling proofs.
Frames 04-06 and 10 go close: the five-nut filling, the skin pattern macro, the cut lotus paste and the two-filling halves.
Flat lay and wide closers.
Frames 09 and 11 finish with the overhead range and the wide set view.
Post-production and delivery.
Retouching held the skin relief, matched the festival grade, and delivered 2000x2000px sRGB JPG plus WebP.
"Mooncake photography is a hot-blade exercise: one pull for the filling, raking light for the skin, and the tea set for the occasion." — June, Product Photography Team Lead
