Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink Product Photography

The client sells top-mount stainless kitchen sinks and asked AIMI Visual Media in Guangzhou, China to shoot its double-bowl model for online listings. The sink comes as a set: two basins, a high-arc chrome faucet, a steamer insert with a glass lid, a wire rinse basket, and a small deck fitting. We shot 4 images in our Guangzhou studio: 3 clean frames on a black set that show the sink's shape and finish, and 1 styled frame where the rinse basket holds grapes, apples, and tomatoes next to a cutting board, showing what the second bowl is for, all under a full commercial license.

Photography Challenges

1. A sink is one giant mirror. Brushed basins plus a chrome faucet mean the whole studio shows up in the metal. We kept one large soft light over the set and black cards around it, so the steel carries long clean highlights and the faucet shows one bright stripe instead of a picture of our ceiling.

2. Brushed and polished need different light. The basins are brushed, the rim and faucet are mirror-polished. One light recipe has to serve both: soft enough that the brushed grain keeps its satin look, angled enough that the chrome edges stay bright lines. We set the light low and large, and checked both finishes before every take.

3. Two bowls need a reason each. An empty double sink just looks like a hole in the listing. The styled frame gives each bowl a job: the left one open for capacity, the right one working with the rinse basket full of produce. Buyers read function from the photo, not the spec sheet.

4. Black set, black shadows, lost edges. A dark sink on a dark set can melt into one shape. A thin strip of light behind the set draws the back edge of the rim and the faucet curve, so the silhouette stays readable against the black.

Our Approach

Dark Hero Frames

The 3 clean frames put the sink on a glossy black surface against a black backdrop, shot at a three-quarter angle so both bowls and the faucet arc read in one view. One frame loads the steamer insert with its glass lid into the left bowl, one keeps the set bare for shape, and one shows the deck with the small side fitting. Long soft highlights run along the rim so the steel reads as quality, not as gray plastic.

Styled Produce Frame

The fourth frame answers the buyer's real question: what do I do with two bowls? The wire basket goes into the right bowl holding green grapes and apples, cherry tomatoes wait on a bamboo board beside it, and the left bowl stays open and empty. The red and green produce gives the monochrome set a pulse and shows scale without a single word.

Retouching

All 4 frames get one dark, clean finish: the steel's tone matched across frames, fingerprints and water spots cleaned at 200% zoom, and the black set kept deep without losing the drain details. The produce stays natural, no pumped saturation. Files went out at 2000x2000px sRGB in JPEG (quality 90) and WebP, ready for Amazon listings and A+ Content.
